The stadium also houses the National Sports Museum, which includes some of the most priceless pieces of memorabilia in Australian sporting history.

“Melbourne Cricket Ground”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2014 NEW

Visited on the night of Sept.17th,2014 and was totally blown away with this magnificent building.Recently rebuilt,it now holds 95,000 people seated and about 5,000 standing for a total of 100,024 people [don't know where the 24 came from].The ground is within walking distance from the Melbourne CBD and has excellent access/egress and plenty of public amenities.
There is an impressive sports history gallery and the actual sports arena is in a true circular shape [not oblong] and its obvious that the planners who built it have taken public comfort into account.Well worth a vist when your in Melbourne.

“Big”

Big stadium, expensive food. If you've been to europe and seen the quality of their stadiums, then it doesn't compare.

“MCG has a history! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2014 NEW

Must visit place as this pitch got a wonderful history. Watch any match to experience the magic. If you visit melbourne, make some time to see MCG and other stadium near by. You should catch a train from Flinders street and get down at Richmond which is just one stop. You will see the stadium right away. You can also catch tram from Flinders street.

“Sacred Patch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2014 NEW

It is God's sacred patch and mine of course. The atmosphere is something else, you have to go to experience it. Just before the bounce of the first ball and the crowd roars and it vibrates in your chest, it almost takes your breath away. It is a must experience, even to see the cricket and the crowd is great to listen to with their witty comments.
