“Tourists, don't go early”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013 via mobile

We walked to QVM early, an hour after it opened and unless you wanted to buy food, few stalls were open. By the time we left an hour later, more merchandise stalls were setting up. If you are there for souvenirs, do go until after 10. Variety was limited as many stalls were run by the same company with identical items. However, food selection was unlimited!

“Everything you would need...and more”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

A large old market very close to the CBD and well connected with trams and the tube. Foodstuff is quite reasonably priced and you must try out their farmer's breakfast at one of the Delis. Delicious!

Cold cuts are amazing and fresh. Another section has all sorts of clothes, souvenirs and other knick knacks. The selection and variety is endless.

The timings vary each day, so ensure you check out the timings online for a particular day of the week lest the market is closed.

“It is a gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

We are so lucky to have Victoria Market in Melbourne, with fresh produce, varied delis, seafood vendors and butchers. Check out the polish deli for great frankfurts, salamis, liverwurst and sausages. Their frankfurts are the best in town. The french cheese shop has a huge range of yummy french cheeses. Fresh Warrnambool butter is avaiable from Curds & Whey.
Have coffee at the trolley rental and cafe where they roast their own coffee beans, plus sell well know brands like St Ali, etc.

“You Can't Go To Melbourne & not visit Queen Victoria Markets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

The markets are divided into sections - the deli / takeaway food section, fresh produce and general merchandise. There are great little eateries and cafes. It's a must do when in Melbourne, so don't miss it. You can walk or talk the local transport as it is easy to find. Have fun!
