“Free Breakfast - Toast & Cereal'- Room Small - Service, What Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

We arrived yesterday, asked if breakfast was included, advised yes, didn't tell us where breakfast was held, found on lobby floor near the lifts going to the 10th Floor and Beyond. UHT Milk was due off the day before, being put into all the rooms, curdled and milk spots, went to reception, got some that lasted to March, but no broad message was issued to guests to check their milk supplies. Breakfast, expecting Bacon, Eggs, Sausages, Tomatoes etc. only Toast and Cereal, Young Asian Staff Member pushing in with Guests trying to get a decent breakfast. For a Queen Executive Suite, the room was very small with multiple holes patched on the roof, room 1018, dirty windows and very small bathroom. Young staff upon check-in weren't at all helpful.

Stay here... Its handy to all sorts of stuff, the room is modern & well appointed & the staff super-helpful.

That said, the accessible room has NO WINDOWS (which they make quote clear on their website) & for a lad from the bush like me that's bordering on unbearable. Sadly its typical of so many Australian hotels/motels where the accessible room is the worst room in the place (often street front, beside the janitor's closet or elevator tower...).

The rate was great, good location & staff.

Will come back for sure if the standard rooms are sufficiently wheelchair friendly.

Great stay. Its located 200m from southern cross station and close to trams and all Melbourne attractions. Walking distance to parks, sporting venues and crown casino. Great value for money, spent $150/night and got a city view. Great sauna, gym and pool.

I really liked this hotel, it was very close to Southern Cross station, so I could just hop on the Skybus from the airport and walk over. The room was very clean and lovely and the staff were very helpful and willing to extend my check-out time a little.
The continental breakfast on offer was pretty average, I wouldn't eat there again and going online was a bit of an issue. Instructions were through the TV, but that option didn't work in my room, so I ended up going to an internet cafe...

Stayed here for 3 nights, unfortunately 2 nights too many. As a 4 star rated hotel I err R better rooms and facilities. Rooms basic and functional, and as a previous review stated rather bland, depressing in my view. On arrival we were given keys to a room which had a blanked out window, which made the room dark, was advised the window was blanked out due to works going on. Requested another room for which we needed to wait, so decided to get a drink in the bar only to be told there was no bar or restaurant. Had to go down the road to find one. Was given another room, but it was exactly the same as the first except the window was not blacked out but the view was concrete buildings, also the Venetian blind and black OU blind were both broken and had been for some time. Not a good hotel to stay in if you want views of Melbourne.
There was no towel rails to hang wet towels. Very surprised that there was no free wi-fi, charges were steep and had an issue with the time allocated, so didn't use it again

Room Tip: Only stay if you are passing through. Restaurant is only open for breakfast

We used this hotel for a one night stay before embarking on the Great Ocean Road the next day. The hotel is very functional and the room could not be faulted other than for its blandness. It was typical of what one would expect in a business type hotel with all the facilities that one would expect... except free WiFi which in 2014 is as essential as TV and towels. I just expect it.

The hotel is well placed for all transport but at the moment there is a huge building project over the road which rather spoils the aesthetics of the place.

We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment except that breakfast costs $12 and we both ate for less than that in a local cafe.

We found the staff at reception to be friendly, efficient and helpful.

A pleasant, clean hotel which is situated near to the main railway station and airport bus terminal which is great if you are arriving late. Would only recommend as a stopover hotel. Staff pleasant, polite and very helpful.
