“Good Location. Good Service. Great Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for the Melbourne cup carnival and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is close to all we needed including Southern Cross Station of which we caught the airport bus service to and from the airport. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a little lacking with the same scrambled eggs and beans everyday but did not bother me too much. Hotel was clean and comfortable and our room was serviced everyday. Our room was on the 17th floor of tower 2 and the view across Melbourne was nice. We would stay here again.

The discount available through the website Vayama was fantastic - a full service hotel room at AUD$83pn! The property is in a quieter area of the town and it has it all! Heated indoor 12M pool/sauna/gym, plus car parking, and a great breakfast room (extra but modest) cost. The room was big enough for me and the bed had cotton sheets. There was a desk and settee. Television is not my preoccupation when on a business trip but there was a fine flat screen on the wall. The best part for me was the completly quiet room (at the NE side of the hotel overlooking the city) Bathroom had a nice clean modern shower and nice bright halogen lighting. This is no converted pub but a comfortable modern hotel! Because of booking through a discount web site I could not get "Best Western" Rewards points but that is a small matter. The after hours room service (which I did not use) apparently is from an independent Company but the menu seemed quite good - even beer/wine can be ordered. the room has a nice sized mini fridge and theer is a Coles 50M away so making snacks is no problem. The nice staff even allowed me laet checkout which was welcome.

Room Tip: less view but more silence if you ask for rooms at the NE side (back) of the hotel

We stay here every time we're in Melbourne, and still cannot find fault. After reading some other reviews, I am convinced some people are just professional whingers who want 10 star facilities and service, for a 3 or 4 star price. The hotel can't help that there is a new police station being constructed over the road. How long do you spend at your window staring at the view anyway? Keep up the good work Atlantis. I am always allowed to check in early, was upgraded on Friday night (1st November) to a Queen room as all that was left on booking site was twin room which we would have made do with, but got a queen anyway when we arrived, for no extra charge. Allowed to leave car after checkout for a few hours at no extra charge. Can't complain about anything. Perhaps speak to the staff with respect and you will be treated the same? I haven't struck one rude staff member so far, and that includes housekeeping who always have a cheery 'good morning' for us. Michelle W

Had an overnight stay Saturday just gone. Had a good room on floor 14...reasonably quiet except for the occasional rowdy guest (s) in the hallways.

Room and bed clean and comfortable.

No mini bars in room, thought there is a snack as well as soft drink vending machine in the reception area.

I am not sure what views people expect? In the city, close to rail way lines and other buildings, the view isn't going to be spectacular and how long do you stay in the room actually looking at it?

Breakfast is reasonable....cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, baked beans, juices.

Close to trams, shops, train station and not to far to walk to Crown entertainment precinct or the South Wharf DFO.

Probably more a 3.5stars than 4star stay.

Paid $105 to stay on the 31st of October 2013!
No windows no views but was made aware of that prior to booking! Room was good but didn't have no fitted sheets just a flat sheet over a mattress protector, I got hot and didn't have a sheet at all :-( disappointing.
No microwave ... Kettle was dirty..
My sheet and doona cover had stains had one towel for two people and one shampoo and one conditioner for two people one bath mat no toilet roll just one that was neary finished!
The girls behind the desk one was blonde and attractive but she is very snobby she seemed to be rude and comment on the way people look an laugh at them along with a brunette person!!
I had a free breakfast not much part from bake beans cereals horrible youghurt and scrambled eggs ( perhaps crossionts and and few more yummy varieties be nice more fruit ECT) but can't complain as it was complimentary !!
Bathroom u can't look the door from the inside?? The fan was dirty!! hair in shower plug ?? Very boring room have to pay $15 watch one movie!! But liked how Ivan check your account on the tv
Do not get room service !!
it is disgusting had the chicken parmie it was not nice and no sauce very dry!! The pizza is under cooked and the base is brought from Coles and just waste of $55 !! Also the room menus are out of date so food is like $5 extr now !!
I do how ever think it is good location and food cheap stay I think the service would have being terrific if the girls wernt so stuck up making comments and laughing at people I felt sorry for the every one they made fun of!!
Including me I also got laughed at I have never felt so upset I felt like I wasn't welcome at all !! So if ur not good looking I suggest not to go unless you want to be picked on and degraded

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend. The hotel has a good location, for what you pay I think it was a good value.the hotel lacks character, but for 150 a night in the heart of the city it does the job. Service was really quick and easy to check in, room was clean and quiet.

After getting a great deal for a "grandview room" from expedia it seemed to be a great start to our trip. We arrived well before checkin in time (around 9am) but there was no problem checking in early much to our delight. The room was big enough although the bathroom was certainly a one person traffic area. The view well it was grand alright, grand viewing of a construction site so not the greatest but that does not really bother me. The pool area is in much need of some patch up work as there was a hole in the ceiling but looked very good on the whole. The staff at the front desk were friendly, but it must be said did not exactly exude a professional nature. Regardless it was a very good stay and a great start to my trip.
