“Great budget hotel, for short stays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

my boyfriend and I stayed at the Atlantis for one night. We were looking for a cheap budget hotel, just so we can stay in the city after a night out.

The rooms are newly renovated, so they look modern and simplist. We had a tv and comfy bed as well a nice clean bathroom. For what you pay, you do get value for money.

The hotel is in a great location, just across the road from Southern Cross Station.

Would stay again if needed a quick cheap hotel for the night.

A disappointing stay. Atlantis called prior to our stay to confirm our booking, we specifically asked for a cot a number of times, upon arriving there was no cot in our room so we had to ask, frustrating. We paid extra for what they call a grand view room, when booking the staff member told us we would have a view of port phillip bay, no we had a view of the train yards and etihad stadium, not the most appealing, when we were expecting a view of port phillip bay.
Rooms are very small, and ours wasnt overly clean, ceiling fan in bathroom very dirty, most lights in the room didnt work, shower seemed to floor bathroom. Bed was comfortable though so one positive for this hotel.
The pool was supposed to be heated, but it was chilly, if it was heated it wasnt heated very much, I didnt stay long as it was too cold.
We didnt stay for breakfast.
Staff werent overly friendly or helpful
Location is good, coles just down road and a short walk to southern cross station.

The best thing about this hotel is the eatery up the road. I'll Sole Italian very underrated eatery supplies food to the Atlantis. The chef is not Italian but does a very good honest clean well presented food.
The hotel is very convenient to rail and air, well situated and country folk can park there car right in the middle of the city. Close to Etihad Stadium, ideal for country footy fans.
Service very good, very friendly and well worth consideration.

I was in Melbourne for a conference. This hotel was about half the price of the Hotel that the conference was in, and I didn't want to blow my entire conference budget just on one trip. The Hotel is nicely located near the transportation hub and was a 15 minute walk from the over priced Crown casino and hotel. Its a good location. My package did not include the breakfast room, but I didn't need it because the conference offered muffins. I have no complaints about my stay in this hotel what so ever. It was reasonably price and comfortable. I would probably stay there again if my job ever takes me back to Melbourne (please, please, please, fingers crossed).

This hotel was a great find and one we will definately repeat. Our 2 day one night stay in Melbourne saw us complete with suitcases arriving at the Atlantis at 11am in the hope of leaving our suitcases for a few hours. They allowed us to check in imediately , late check out the next day and stored our suitcases till our flight the next evening. Very helpful staff, a great breakfast and a fantastic two day stay in Melbourne. Very handy position to Spencer st , skybus and all the attractions Melb. has to offer.

Found this hotel via late rooms on the day, called them up and booked for one night, with breakfast for just $119. We had access to a large room on the 18th floor before 11am and then decided to stay for another night, with a further discount down to $220 for two nights with breakfast. Facilities, pool, gym and location were all great value for money. Trams are outside the door, including the free to ride rattler and the Skybus (rip off) terminal is just over the road. Victoria market is around the corner and the centre of town is a 15 minute walk through safe and buzzing streets. If you want cheap quality food away from $12 a pint tourist traps, checkout the catering college at the back of the hotel (book).
Great service, friendly staff, good location - thanks

We stayed for a couple of nights in this hotel and we will repeat.
The location is great, by the southern cross train station and with a stop of the free tourist tram on the door.
The room was big, with a nice bathroom and the staff was really friendly.
The price was really good, great value for money.
Will come back.
