“Another great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

About 18 months ago I was looking for a hotel without all of the noise associated with the CBD so decided to stay at the Pullman Albert park.Since then have stayed there on a number of occasions including their sister hotel next door and never once have I been disappointed. The staff are exceptional and you are always made to feel very welcome.
Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Room Tip: A lakeview room has a great outlook and if you are high enough, you can watch the cruise ships

Stayed at this hotel 3 nights with work colleges for a conference
From the moment you push through the revolving doors, it's like travelling back in time to the 80s, and not in a good way
The carpets, furniture and decor are really dated, faded and tarnished, the rooms are no better. Lots of construction going on, paint fumes every day were really awful, we all had sore throats. When we complained the management were kind enough to spray around air freshener, which made it 10 times worse and made the whole place smell like a toilet
My room had an empty fridge with no minibar, whilst some colleages had minibars in their rooms, no idea why?? Their minibars weren't restocked daily either
Brekky $35, warm mediochre food, better to walk 50 metres left out of hotel to super trendy Persillade Cafe with great breakfasts and coffee
Downstairs bar packed full with football fans, so no chance of a pre-dinner drink. Bar meals very average and super expensive, coffee tasted like dishwater
Helpful friendly reception staff were the only redeeming feature of this hotel
This hotel is really showing it's age, definitely not worth the price of the rooms
Wouldn't stay here again ever

First time staying under the Pullman brand. Essentially the same hotel thus far, a bit dated, but still a good hotel. Checked in early, without a problem, and were given a top floor room overlooking the "G" and the bay. Very happy!

Very functional and comfortable room and clean and roomy bathroom, with quality toiletries. Very comfortable king sized bed.

Probably due for an upgrade, which I believe Pullman are undertaking, but still a very comfortable stay. Reception and bar area still up to scratch for a good hotel,

Front desk service excellent, for both check in and out. Very friendly and helpful.

Will stay again, looking forward to some upgrades now it is under new ownership.

Room Tip: Views are great from either side, higher floors are better.

I have stayed at the Pullman on the Park, formally Hilton on the Park on many occasions. If it was marketed as a 3 star hotel, then perhaps my view on my stays here would be different, however the fact that Pullman on the Park ranks itself as a 5 star establishment, it is disappointing and has a lot to answer for!

Rooms are generally comfortable, however they are definitely not up to standard of a 5-star hotel. Big beds are definitely comfortable, however the bathrooms are dated and well in need of an uplift. There always seem to be an issue with the water pressure from the old shower heads. The old shower in bath arrangement needs to go, along with the non-slip plastic mats! Room service is expensive and on recent visits, very disappointing. Definitely make use of the restaurants in the local area which area much better value.

The price of the wifi internet is astronomical considering its low speed and quality! It is definitely not worth purchasing. In many other Pullman hotels that I have stayed in, the wifi is usually provided free of charge. This may be done in due course, as I understand this hotel hasn't been in the hands of the Pullman for very long.

Service wise, the Concierge staff are always very helpful. The front desk often seems to be understaffed at times, especially during the early morning departure/check-in rush hour.

Despite the negatives, if you are looking for a hotel with a good location, you cannot go wrong here. The hotel faces the MCG, and is very well in reach of public transport, with Jolimont Station just opposite. It is also walking distance into the city centre and very close to the Bridge Road shopping strip.

Room Tip: Request rooms facing the MCG for the best views of the city!

The room we were given was on level two, really noisy as its near the pipes, window facing fence, Its in NOT free wifi like advertised on trivago, in fact its $26.50, for only 24 hours, which is a massive rip off. Oh, and the Tvs picture was beyond bad. not Impressed in the least. The staff were relatively friendly though.

Room Tip: just ask for a higher level if possible.

LOCATION:
This hotel is about a $12 taxi ride from the city and to be honest is a lovely location as it has awesome views (city side) and the park is nice to walk around. Its also a 10 minute walk to Richmond which has some nice restaurant's and a coles supermarket if needed.

ROOM:
Good in size and space and the bathroom is nice and large but its all very dated. The bathroom was old and tired and the tiles needed the grout cleaned. The rooms are also old and dated and lack a nice modern classy feel but more remind me of a 70's motel room. the Air-conditioning is a nightmare! its old fashioned and very noisy!!!! if you want to sleep with it going good luck! After 7 days I found this a depressing environment to be in. How ever the bed was extremely comfortable.

SERVICE:
I can honestly say that the service was really good!! the staff are really friendly and willing to help anyway they can, especially on advice for things to do and great places to eat, If it wasn't for the great service I would more than likely have checked out and found a more modern hotel in the city. The staff deserve gold stars as without them the hotel would be well below average standards.

FOOD:
The food and coffee was really good too, the room service was good but I found the menu lacked a good amount of options after several days, but the quality was good and the food always arrived on time with room service. It was a little on the over pricy side though.

OVER ALL:
This hotel isn't what you expect from a Pullman but charged like one, The hotel needs a major renovation in the rooms and some decent aircon that's quiet. The staff are great!! I would stay here again if it was a cheap option. Also if the hotel is buys the wi fi doesn't work! very annoying!

Room Tip: Go higher up to avoid the noise unless you need wi fi as it doesn't work for a lower level, I wo...

Attended a conference here, spend 6 days. Lots of construction happening, very noisy, not the best experience. Quite expensive for what you get. Rooms are adequate and comfortable, service good. Nothing spectacular wrong with the whole experience, however I feel there is better options in Melbourne. Maybe once construction has been completed it will be good again, but I can only comment on my experience on the day.
