“Great value and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights and arrived at 9.30am staff were great especially Joe there was no rooms ready yet so we were able to store our suitcases with the hotel and we went off exploring got a phone call at 11.30 am to say they had a room ready even though we were not meant to be there before 2 pm room was excellent on 3 rd floor and very quiet plenty of hot water and big fluffy towels with complementary toiletries there was a paper felt outside our room each morning (I have stayed in top notch hotels who don't provide a paper) great service all round breakfast each morning

Idealy situated in Melbourne CBD.
Rooms basic but comfortable.
NO city noise !!
Staff at reception very helpful with organising airport transfers etc.
Good price for 2 of $129 per night [ & being in the CBD]

Room Tip: one of few places where 2 single beds were available.

I stayed here for two nights in early May for work. I booked a room overlooking Bourke Street Mall - and although the rooms are small(ish) - they are clean and have all I needed for a work trip.

Check-in was good and quick - and the location of the hotel is second to none if you want to access trams, local restaurants and shops. The price is very affordable. It is a bit of a convoluted process to get to your room - taking one lift to the 2nd floor - then having to walk the length of the building and take a 2nd lift to your destination floor - but this is not really a big deal.

I couldn't believe how close we were to DJ"S, hidden away in a lovely little arcade.
Yes, small rooms, but we were only there to sleep, new bathroom, comfy bed, quiet ,all we needed.
Parking was a walk away but costing $6.50 for 2 nights, what a saving.
Great little restaurant next door, reminded me of Paris

Excellent location on Bourke St Mall for a Mothers Day shopping weekend. We stayed in high level twin room. They were small in size and bathroom tiles could do with updating but they were clean. Bathroom pipes from nextdoor rooms can be heard but acceptable considering the location and price of the hotel stay. Basic continental breakfast included. Street is quiet at night so no street noise can be heard from the rooms
Since cars have no access to Bourke St, you need to wheel your luggage through Bourke St Mall for pick up/drop off on Elizabeth St (closest cross street)

Preferred to stay at their sister hotel Causeway Hotel on little Collin st (just a short stroll from this hotel)

I have stayed at the Causeway Inn On The Mall many times. The rooms are nothing flash, and a little on the small side. But they are clean, and appointed well enough. The price, cosidering it's right in the middle of the CBD, is pretty good. The breakfast is a little lacking but there are several cafe's right outside if you require more than a continental breakfast.

On this latest stay I found the water temp in the shower varied widely from freezing cold to scalding hot at random times.

Again, the big draw here is it's location. There are several tram lines, train stations and attractions easily within walking distance. I'll be back when I am next in Melbourne.
