regular visitor to the saturday markets here - great selection of quality, tasty food; love the atmosphere of a veggie garden and small animal space surrounding the market

“Friendly place with kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

I like the place, you can see and touch lots of animals. Some people rented a field in the farm to grow their own vegetables. Very interesting to see how big the cauliflower can grow. They also have the farmer market day, but have to be there before 2pm. The bakery at door also great. Best break i have ever tasted!!!

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012

We had a wonderful day at the farm & was even more joyed to find the organic markets were there too!
It's a great place to teach children about sustainable, healthy & organic farming. Highly recommend.

“Suitable for pre-shool children”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

A country atmosphere right at Melbourne inner suburb doorstep ! Children can see, touch, feed farm animals. Parents can rewind and leave the hustling-bustling feeling behind. Fresh produce is available for a leafy & healthly salad dish for dinner. And if you don't want cook, Lentil As Anything - the community based restaurant where you pay what you think is worth - is just near by !

“If you've never been to a farm, it's fantastic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

Went to the Collingwood Children's Farm today. It 'almost' felt like we were in a country town a few hours from Melbourne.

We were able to view the cow being milked, freely roam and the paddock with the sheep and goats, feed the ponies and check out the pigs. Chooks, ducks and geese walked freely and it was nice for the kids to be able to touch/pat the animals.

The location was excellent - nestled down the back of Collingwood/Abbotsford. The grounds were beautiful and green.

This it's a place more suitable for younger children b/c I think older ones (10+) may get bored quickly once the novelty wears off.

Accessibility with a pram is possible - there were many Mums walking around with babies and toddlers - be aware that all paths are dirt/rock. Probably not the best place for a wheelchair or someone with mobility issues.

Someone mentioned that it's free - This isn't accurate - Family ticket was $16 (definitely NOT expensive though - and good value for money as you can spend most of the day here if you weren't rushing through) Car park was a further $6 from memory.
