The food was amazing, the pricing was really good, fantastic wine list, service was warm and lovely. We will be back at every Melbourne visit. We have already started recommending to friends as this was recommended to us.

“French cooking? Where was the garlic?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

We visited as a large family group on a Monday evening so it was fairly quiet. The restaurant is quite small and not memorable. We were disappointed that the food did not live up to expectations. The chef seemed to rely on salt to flavour the food rather than usual French cuisine which includes garlic. We ordered mussels but the stock was lacking in flavour and we could not taste any garlic or anything else but a watery stock. It was also a small portion of mussels. For mains we had kangaroo and seafood. The waiter insisted that the Kangaroo be served rare but we prefer medium rare and it seemed they had a problem with this request. My seafood was not memorable and again there was little if any garlic. The deserts were crème brulee and tarte tatin. The crème brulee top was flamed at the table and not done for long enough as it did not become brittle at all. The tarte tatin was disappointing in flavour. The cost of the meal was rather high and we would not eat here again. There was a sign in the ladies toilet saying something about Feng Shui requires you to close the lid on the toilet seat, however the toilet seat was loose and almost hanging off.

“A Little "Bite" of Paris in South Yarra”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

This restaurant was a little reminder of the Bistros in Paris. The wait staff were extremely friendly without being too over the top. It was also the first time my daughters had ever tasted French Cuisine. We absolutley loved the Canard a La Bouffe and can't wait to visit again next time we're in Melbourne.

Great place for a 'special occasion' dinner. The service is always friendly and professional. Food and wines are amazing. I can highly recommend the Duck 'A La Bouffe'!

“Dissaponiting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

We dinned here afterreading the reviews on trip advisor. The food was nice but not exceptional. The waiters english was poor and so ordered us incorrect dishes. We asked for entree size and was given (and charged) main meal size. We paid snyway because the food was nice but wouldnt recommend.
