“great venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Rod Laver Arena is a great venue for concerts and tennis. For the tennis try to get a seat in the shade!

“It is Rod Laver. Need I Say More?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We came to Melbourne predominantly to see tennis. No tennis lover can be in Melbourne without attending at least one match here. There is no such thing as a bad seat. The roof remains open to give you an intimate, upclose and personal feel to the action, but it is closed in part or totally according to weather. So no fear of rainouts or heat stroke as is a risk at other major tennis venues. The arena is right on the tram route so you can get here easily without a car. A nice touch is that it is surrounded by th Australian tennis hall of fame walk with a collection of busts of noted tennis players. You can stroll though it at your leisure without tickets. Great opportunity for a photo of you and whichever legend you choose.
