4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Started out as the Cricket museum and has now extended to lots of sports. Was easy to spend a couple of hours browsing.

A rich history of all Aussie sports together with a great history of the modern Olympic Games. So much information and so well displayed. The interactive area for the kids is a great plus

“A wealth of knowledge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Got the MCG Tour and Sports Museum package. The sports Museum was amazing with some of the memorabilia they have on loan or donated from iconic athletes. The AFL section was fantastic with a screen where you can select your club song to play whilst having a look at all the team cabinets.

Those that work in the Museum are so friendly! Down stairs in the MCC Museum was a guide with an absolute abundance of knowledge. I was quite happy when he approached us asking us if we wanted to know anything or needed help because the stories and information he provided would have been looked over had he not told them to us. This included an MCC member badge being found in a trench in Galipoli. Some amazing staff.

Overall all the staff that work here and at the MCG are fabuous, attending the Museum was quite a learning experience and I would recommend this to any sport loving fans in Melbourne!

“Must-do for cricket and footy fans!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

The NSM was fantastic and one of the highlights of my stay in Melbourne -if you are a big sports fan (cricket and footy in particular) you could probably spend close to a full day fully exploring the museum! (I spent about 1.5 hours and felt it was nowhere near enough...I definitely plan to go back next time I visit Melbourne)

The Shane Warne and James Hird hologrammes are must-sees, as is the AFL Hall of Fame section (especially for the younger footy fans to learn about some of the greats from previous eras). There is also an interactive zone for kids and big kids ;).

The tour guides that are present in the museum on break are also very knowledgeable and more than happy to chat to you about the exhibits or history of the sports/MCG.

I would also recommend doing the MCG tour and NSM combo.
