“Good location and value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

This was a good value for the money. Two bedrooms, nice open living / dining/ kitchen area with all appliances. Laundry facilities in the apt worked fine. Couldn't get the A/C to work perfectly -a little chilly. Nice terrace!
Only glitch we had was our taxi took us to the office at 183 City Rd, but it was closed. They had our keys and info at the apt at 183 City Rd. So check the after hours policy if you come after 8:00pm.

My granddaughter and I visited Melbourne last week for Circus de Soleil. Unfortunately our flight was delayed twice due to our plane being caught up in the bad QLD weather. Ended up getting into Melbourne just after 12.30am and as guaranteed there was the security guard to let us into Melbourne Shortstay SouthbankOne. They had sms'd me earlier in the day with details for late checkin procedure. I had booked and paid for 3 nights for a 1 bedroom apartment and was given a 3 bedroom , 2 bathroom AMAZING apartment. ALL VERY new , lovely furniture, lots of space, very clean, loads of towels etc. What a bonus my granddaughter loved having her own room and bathroom. There was also a small balcony of the living area , air conditioner/ heater in the main living area worked really well and there is ducting into the 2 main bedrooms. Loads of storage space in bedrooms with massive 2 door mirrored robes in 2 of the 3 bedrooms the second internal bedroom has a double mirrored robe on opposite walls.. Kitchen also had heaps of cupboard, I could honestly live full time in one of these apartments. We where even supplied with 3 sachets of washing powder (washer and dyer in the second bathroom). Loads of cafes and restaurants within walking distance and the room service menu was plentiful with chooses and huge in servings - chips and vegs where to die for and sticky date pudding enough for 2 people and the vanilla pancotta i can't describe just YUM. Main course and pudding where hot and did not need to be heated at all.All cutlery and crockery was spotlessly clean as was the oven ,full sized fridge and dishwasher. if you wanted to stock the fridge yourselves there is a large supermarket right next door. On the corner of the street is a great Italia bar/ eatery and several bottle shops within 5 mins walk from the apartments. Staff when we crossed the road to go to the head office to check in the next morning where very friendly and efficient. Check in and out .only took a couple of minutes each time, the lovely man even arranged a cab to take us to the airport . You would be crazy not to try this group of apartments.

Room Tip: stay min 3 nights request a higher room for great views as the apartments have huge floor to ceiling...

Visited Melbourne for 4 nights in January and had a fabulous time. Apartment was on 15th floor and we had a good view of the city. The Apartment was 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, so was a good size for 4 adults and was very clean which was great as I am quite fussy about that. We had 1 queen bed and 2 singles as requested. The location was great, not far to walk to the city, casino, DFO and the State Theatre. Easy walk to trams, trains and buses.
It was very handly to food convienance store which we got groceries from + used the delivery service for the Italian Restaurant next door which was great. Made good use of the laundry, only there was no tub but wasnt a problem as used double sink for handwashing. The amenities were great with the kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment. We used the indoor pool each night which was great after a long day shopping. Thank you very much for the great service we had during our stay

Room Tip: I asked for a higher floor to have a good view

We had great time in Melbourne, and the location for these apartments was fantastic, but there were a few little things that could be improved on,considering the money we paid.. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a study with a bed in it , so bedding for 5 people but there was only one 3 seater lounge ( which comfortably seated 2 people) and 2 chairs in the lounge area. The TV was a little on the small side for the size of the room, and the hotplates in the kitchen had a wok burner on it,but no wok was provided. We did some washing, but the noise of the dryer was horrific - squeaked all the time.
With these few improvements, we would consider staying again.

We really enjoyed our stay at SouthbankOne. The apartment was much bigger than we expected and had fantastic views with the windows from roof to floor. Airconditioning worked well in living room and filted through to the bedrooms. Very quiet washing machine. There were 3 lifts so no waiting to get in or out. All conveniences were in the apartment and was very handy to Foodworks and Restaurant downstairs and in walking distance to Southbank and trams just a block away. No need to hire a car. Easy to book in and book out. Very impressed with how clean the apartment was. Good security as well. There was no noise from other apartments or other floors. Will definately stay here again when in Melbourne. Thank you for a great stay.

A great size apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms suitable for a small family, and well located. A good view of the fireworks on New Years Eve. Air conditioning was awesome especially on those 40 C plus days and the balcony view was a plus. TV could have been a bit bigger, but was adequate. A self locking door would have been a plus, so you had to remember to lock your door each time you exit and enter, so a bit of an inconvenience. The foodworks mini supermarket was a big plus as well as being close to Southbank and other attractions. The kitchen was well equipped and the stove, dishwasher and oven were all quality appliances. The pool was a bit average but functional. A very convenient location and great size

Room Tip: Make sure you can see the Yarra river for a good view of the fireworks on NYE

We stayed here during our trip to Melbourne over Christmas. Staff in the office were friendly (although porter staff in reception could have done more to help rather than sending us back over to the office), and the quality of the apartment itself was very good.

If we had to nit-pick, the dishwasher needed a little attention and there wasn't enough water pressure for a nice powerful shower, but that is really scratching around for something to criticise!

Gym and swimming pool looked underused, which meant we had the pool to ourselves when we used it.
