We took the Vinetrekker tour to vineyards in the Mornington Peninsular and much enjoyed the experience. We were taken in a comfortable minibus to a carefully chosen set of wineries. Some were small and others were large; some produced French-type wines and others Italian-type wines. On each occasion we tasted about two whites and two reds and relaxed with owners or staff who answered our questions and showed us round. In the middle of the day, we enjoyed a meal at the Willow Creek restaurant accompanied, of course, by exactly the right wine from their range. We sat overlooking the vines and relaxed. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about all kinds of things apart from wine and we felt we had tasted a bit of Australian culture and history as well as their wine. He even found a koala bear for us to photograph. We ended our day by dropping in on a specialist chocolate maker and finally drove to a high viewing point overlooking the bay where ocean-going ships voyage.
