“Great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

I stayed here recently with my daughter and have to say the lasting impression I will take with me is how obliging and friendly we always found the staff. We booked a king studio and I think most of these face a wall with no view. This caused me a few anxiety issues, but as soon as I explained the situation the staff did their utmost to accommodate us in a room that didn't make me feel quite so shut in. And every time we went through reception we were greeted with a smile.

I liked the fact the rooms are quite generous, the fridge and kitchen are very usable, and the beds are super comfy. The location is great, right near the city and plenty of restaurants. The tram stop was great and gave an added sense of security even when just coming from the other end of Bourke Street at night.

I wished we had tried the Skybus because there always seemed to be one out the front, and the taxi fares were pretty steep at just under $60 from the airport.

I would definatly stay here again.

We are staying at this property at the moment and pretty disapointed actually. I booked about three months in advance and requested a high floor with a view. Instead we got a mid floor with a brick wall out the window. Rang up reception only to be told by the manager that its what I requested, really?? Pillows are too bulky and they don't have a pillow menu which doesn't cater for people liking firmer pillows. We ordered room service a day ago and our leftover food is still sitting in the kitchen even though house keeping have been since. The shower is over the bath too which I don't like. Very tempted to pack my bags and go to the crown where I know the service is impeccable. Not trying to sound like a whinger but I have high standards and these apartments definately didn't live up to my expectations. On a positive note though the location is excellent. Very close to Bourke street mall and China town.

Clean, simple apartment hotel, with modern furnishings and a great location. Everything is within walking distance, and there is a tram stop near the entrance.

The kitchen is compact but sufficient, with kitchenware, cutlery and crockery supplied. Our room had the wash basin and vanity located outside of the toilet and shower, which was at times a bit awkward but not a deal breaker.

The staff were friendly and generally helpful and the lobby area was comfortable when we had to wait. I would definitely stay here again.

A group of us booked a couple of rooms for a weekend and were pleasantly surprised. Rooms were spacious and included a small kitchenette, that we may have used if we were staying for longer (or if I was in Melbourne for work on my own and wanted a relaxing night in). The tvs were a good size and directly opposite the beds. We were in room 1908 and had a lovely view of the CBD from our floor to ceiling windows. The other pair were on level 18 and said their view was not as good as they looked into another apartment complex.

The bathroom/wet area lay out was a bit unusual. The toilet and shower were co-located in the bathroom but there was no bench space or basin in the actual bathroom. Just a towel rail and a single hook near the door. The basin/bench was outside, opposite the kitchen. Perhaps it was to make the area more spacious, but it felt a bit odd. You have to be good friends to feel comfortable doing all your morning ablutions in front of each other, and if someone wanted a lie in while the other person wanted to get ready for the day, it was a bit disruptive as the lights had to get switched on to be able to see yourself in the mirror. Overall not a big deal, but a bit disconcerting.

As everyone else says the other big selling point is the location which is fabulous about 100m or so from the end of Bourke St mall, near the theatres and Chinatown. Quick walk to Fed Square and even the NGV wasn't that far away. Despite being in the middle of everything we didn't hear any outside noise overnight. The fact that you could control the temperature and fan speed of the air con in the room was a big advantage as well, given that the windows don't open. I'd stay here again, but only with people I knew really well or on my own.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor as it's generally quieter

Perfect location in the main Melbourne CBD with walking distances to convenience stores, malls, supermarkets and Chinatown. Rooms are well equipped for business travellers, clean and very well maintained to a good standard. Ensuites are great, water pressure excellent, good linen, however one downfall is that occasionally you'd get beds that are pieced together from two, which isn't the most comfortable thing to sleep on. Staff are friendly and approachable; a perfect hotel for those who need a productive and comfortable space.

Great location and helpful staff. Hotel is close to shopping area and lots of good restaurants. Room is spacious and clean. We also had very good experiences using their website. They honored their promotional rates when we told them of the difficulties confirming our booking and they promptly gave us a refund when we told them they had incorrectly charged us for an extra day of parking.

Its worth every penny when you get a Studio on the 8th floor(and above) having a room which has a view of Melbourne's skyline. The place is conveniently located in CBD, close to China town with easy access to the Princes Hwy. The rooms are clean, the bed linen smell good and the staff is very friendly.

The studios come with a small kitchenette, oven and a dishwasher, so was very convenient to cook small things such as scrambled eggs, bacon and to bake Pizzas. There are abundant supermarkets around so buying simple things are easy.

One word of caution though: The Parking is very costly and unreasonably priced. Park for free on the streets after 8:00 P.M , but ensure you take your car off before 9:00 A.M

Room Tip: Ask for the melbourne skyline view
