“Excellent if they cleaned the rooms on Sundays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Very good location. Spacious rooms with new decor. There's a kitchen if you need it. Electronic keys are spotty for use in the elevators especially since the doors are so quick in closing. Our main disappointment was the lack of room cleaning on Sundays. There was no indication in the rooms.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel in a One Bedroom Deluxe room for two nights in February 2013 and were very happy overall. The room was very modern and clean and had separate areas for the kitchen, lounge room and bedroom. Our room was at the rear of the hotel overlooking Little Bourke Street, so no view to speak of, but that wasn't a problem. We paid $30 a night extra for parking which was directly under the hotel. The only issue I can think of was a beeping sound from a vehicle or carpark entrance or something that we heard early-ish each morning. Otherwise everything else was great and the hotel was very close to the mall/shopping area. We would stay here again.

Hi Nicho123,

Thanks for the great review, we are pleased to read you and your husband had such a great stay with us and overall trip to Melbourne. For your next visit, might I suggest a room on our executive level, they have wonderful views overlooking the city. Thank you for mentioning the beeping noise in the car park, I will follow this up with our maintenance team.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

We Stayed at Deluxe Studio Room , a large room with modern and aesthetic look , very fresh and nice sized. The Hotel had a large reception area with plenty of staff to cater to the customers , security options were nice as we had to use our key if we enter the hotel late or to use the lifts as well ... Breakfast was a total NO - No specially for Vegetarians , its served at the bar right when we enter the Hotel !!

We had some food items kept at the table when we left the room in the morning, the food left vanished not totally but a good portion of some food items were missing, we informed the front office staff and he told me will let me know later I touched him again on that and he said staff might have thought it was trash and thrown it , I couldn't understand if it was trash why a portion of it was missing why not whole and how can they throw it w/o permission ??

+ve's :

1. Great Sized Modern Rooms
2. Good Reception Area & Lobby
3. Front Office Staff

- Ve's

1. Housekeeping Guys
2. Breakfast
3. Room View

Room Tip: Don't keep ur food out !!

My husband and I took off to Melbourne for the weekend to enjoy our last romantic getaway together before bub arrives in a few months.
Melbourne is a very special place for both us so we decided to go there. We chose this hotel as it had a king size bed and it was a 4.5 star establishment and they offered a small discount on advanced booking rates.
We flew in on a late Thursday after a long day of work and went straight to sleep. We couldn't rest properly since our bed was quite uncomfortable.
When we looked we realized, it was not a king bed, it was simply 2 singles pushed in together with a bed sheet to keep them in. The beds felt old and sunken in on the bottom half and the beds were uneven meaning my husband and I had to sleep on different ends of the bed so we could catch any sleep at all (NOT VERY ROMANTIC).

I called reception the very next morning, to be told there is nothing we can do, all the beds are the same or we can downgrade you to a double. Not one apology, noone offered to have a look to see if the bed was broken - I guess once the accommodation is paid for you can just chuck them in anywhere.

We slept the next night as we had nowhere else to go but finally managed to find another hotel that was available and checked out on the third night. When I explained why we were checking out early, the male at reception now offered me to change rooms (which was not offered before) and "assured" me the beds were new.

I replied saying, "we already booked another room", he just accepted that - no apology, no questions, no effort, no credit / refund, NOTHING. Needless to say, it kinda ruined the experience and we certainly won;t be going back there.

Dear AliceCunhaNcube,,

Thank you your recent feedback, and for choosing Citadines on Bourke Melbourne as your “home away from home”.

I am sorry to learn of your disappointing experience. Please be advised that our beds are either queen-sized or "king split", which comprises two single beds joined together. To enhance our guests' comfort, a plush layer is applied to the joint. Subject to availability, we offer guests the option of relocating to a queen-bedded room if the king bed is not suitable, and this is by no means a downgrade.

I would greatly appreciate if you would contact me at bryan.loh@the-ascott.com with your booking details to allow me to investigate this matter further.

Thank you once again for your support of Citadines on Bourke Melbourne Apart’Hotel, and I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

Yours sincerely,

Bryan Loh

Our family of 5, including 2 kids and Grandma stayed in a larger 2 bedroom apartment on the 24th floor for 3 nights. It was spacious and well set up.We had 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The guest laundry was on level 22 and was $4 per wash an $4 per dry.
The gym and pool were great facilities. The kids used the free Wi-Fi.The location was ideal for a city centre base as it was in the centre of everything and close to the tram.We would love to stay here again.
We enjoyed a drink in the Heirloom Bar and Restaurant downstairs.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.Thanks.

I stayed here for 4 days and found it absolutely the best place so far.

It is centrally located and just walk out the door and jump on a tram and go where you like.

The staff are lovely pleasant people who are willing to help you anyway they can.

The two bedroom unit we had was spacious and clean. Wow what a great relief to find this.

We were too busy to use other facilities but I am sure they are great.

The only down side could be that they are slow getting deposits back.

Great hospitality thank you to all at Citadines on Bourke.

Room Tip: Higher floor is quiet.

A very servicable studio room. Excellent for some self catering, attentive housekeeping and welcoming and helpful staff at reception and in the restaurant. A big bonus to have complimentary wifi. A short walk to the free tram circling the city. Generally cabs at the door and easy walking to many of the shopping and dining experiences of Melbourne. Thank you.
