“Apartment Living in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

We stayed during the Aussie Open for a week and overall had a good stay. We arrived a couple of hours early after a long flight from LA and even though they were full, they took our cases and rushed our room through so we only had to wait a short while in the basic lobby. Our room was a 1 bed suite on the 10th floor, they call these executive, but I think the only difference is the view.
They room are nice for 3 but why hotels don't put in good quality sofa beds instead of always squashing in a rollaway, I don't understand.
Kitchen facilities were good if you needed them and very handy for ice cream and cool treats during a scorching Melbourne week. Very convenient for all of Melbourne's many and varied attractions ( it's one of my favorite cities in the world- not beautiful- or especially historic- just fabulous atmosphere, compact, exciting, great food and amazing world class sporting events).
Didn't use the pool as out at the tennis till all hours, but It looked Ok - nothing flash. Laundry facilities on each floor were much appreciated although tokens were overpriced for the dryers.
Tv in lounge and bedroom good if one party wanted an earlier night. Bed OK.
Would stay again for longer stay but really prefer a hotel for more luxury feel.
Even though it was packed it was quiet

Room Tip: Higher floors near end of the corridors are better and quieter

Checked in on the 12 June and stayed for 3 nights, over the weekend. The property is very new and well maintained. The only setback was there was no housekeeping over the weekend and holiday period. But they were ready to provide clean towels whenever we wanted. The reception was very helpful n helping us to give the information we needed. They were very professional. Our safebox ran low on batt, the housekeeping maintenance made a point to change it. We were out the whole day but there was a note writened and signed indicating the safe box is working condition.

The location was good near to all the transportation, cafeteria and restaurants. As it was cold I did not go to the pool. Overall you will like this place if you choose to stay here.

Room Tip: It will be good to take the top floors. We were at the 17th floor.

We loved our 3 day holiday in Melbourne (our first visit to this great city), primarily because of the excellent experience we had staying here. From the moment we arrived to a lovely late-night welcome from the friendly desk staff (after a long drive via the coast from Canberra), we felt at home here. Our 6 year old loved living here.
Citedines is centrally located, with a short walk to buses and trams (including the excellent free services offered by the forward-thinking, tourist-friendly Melbourne authorities). Shopping, museums, parks, MCG, food, coffee shops - easy to get to everything from here, on foot or by public transport.
The gym and pool were great for us. The room was very comfortable, clean and modern - all the kitchen facilities we needed and cleaning staff who did much more than we needed them to. Convenient parking on-site for not too high a cost. Very good value. Free wifi in room would have put it into the extra excellent category, not just because of extra cost but to avoid having to keep visiting the lobby for codes.
But overall, we loved it - highly recommended for all types of travellers, especially first-time visitors who want to get a feel for the city.

Stayed in Citadines in May 2012 - bigger than a normal hotel room and the hotel facilites are great. The gym in particular is like a real gym, not a pretend gym and they have a pool you can actually do laps in.

The location of the hotel is great, as you can walk everywhere and they do have parking at the back of the hotel at $30 per night.

We stayed mainly for business, but spent a couple of extra nights for pleasure.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th floor and there is no view. I believe up higher you would get a great view

Citadines "Apartelle" has a very convenient location on Bourke St, with easy access to trams, buses, etc. It's not far from the Bourke Mall and other nice malls in Melbourne's central business district, and it's close to Melbourne's Chinatown where Chinese restaurants abound, as well as Greek, Thai, Japanese, & others. The standard studio apartment we got had complete facilities such as a ref, microwave, dishwasher, a kettle, utensils, dishes, cookware. This room was good-sized, not too big, but able to accommodate a sofa, a work table and chair, with the bed separated by a smoked-glass sliding door. The room we got, which I guess is the type given to standard internet "bookers", faced the concrete wall of the next building, though, so when when we looked out

our window, the wall was right smack in front of us. Studio units were supposedly on this side of the building, however, don't lose heart, because if you are able to get a studio on the 10th(?) floor and up, I think you will clear this next building, and get some view of the skyline. Thus, the higher the floor , the better. There is daily room cleaning& housekeeping service EXCEPT on Saturdays and Sundays, thus, if you stay over for a weekend, it is advised that you get your extra toiletries and towels on the Friday before. For new arrivals and check- outs on weekends, though, they have some limited staff to do the cleaning. The apartelle has a supposedly heated indoor pool, though when I tested the water, it was not hot_ just tepid. If you want to use wifi, or internet, it is possible, but with extra charges. No free WIFI. There are desktop computers in the lobby, if you don't want to bring one... Just pay for usage. Over-all, I enjoyed my stay there, mostly because of the convenience due to the location and the modern facilities. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Try to get the higher floors_ even with the cheaper studio units, as they are good enough.

We were wanting somewhere special to stay for our anniversary and we found exactly that at Citadines on Bourke. The little extras such as the organic orange oil shower wash, the built in reading lights into the bed head, the iPod dock, and even things like having a retractable power cord on the hairdryer were great little additions that showed a lot of thought had been put into the design and furnishings of these rooms. There was ample space and to come 'home' to the vista of Melbourne's skyscrapers all lit up at night was wonderful. We didn't hear any street noise, one of my concerns, and the pool was just the right temperature. Not a temperature you dip your toe into and think twice about getting into. As i floated on my back it was great to be able to look up through the glass roof.
I would thoroughly recommend this place for its location, comfort and style.

just arrived back from 5 days in Melbourne - 4 nights staying at Citadines on Bourke - from the moment we arrived (5 of us) the staff were nothing more than super friendly - bending over backwards to be helpful....the room was lovely and clean, bed so comfortable - shower and toilet facilities great - (want a shower with room like that one at home) on the 6th floor - no noise except for some music for about 10 minutes on the Saturday night - blissful peace.....a little more coffee and sugar would have been appreciated - but you could certainly ask at reception for more.....would certainly recommend this Hotel - we will be back.........thank you Citadines...

Room Tip: our room was at the back of the Hotel - maybe that was why it was so quiet and peacful.......and als...
