“Grat value, well serviced, top accomodation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2011

This Apart-Hotel in Bourke Street was close to the shopping District and Theatres. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The one bedroom apartment was well appointed, had two televisions one in the lounge and one in the bedroom.

The room service staff left plenty of cleaning consumables every day. We could not fault this accomodtion and with the three nights for two deal it was very affordable for CBD accomodation.

Room Tip: Take the separate bedroom deal gives you much more space

A girlfriend and I stayed here for a quick shopping weekend in Melbourne. Checked in about 10pm one night and Danny (in-training) on the desk was fantastic. Very easy check in and he suggested a great place for us for a quick drink around the corner.

The location is fantastic - walking distance to all the shops and restaurants - must go to Movida! Beds were super comfortable, nice large rooms and great shower with fantastic water pressure. All that we could want for a weekend in Melbourne for a reasonable price.

Citadines on Bourke in Melbourne is a terrific place to stay. It is located within walking distance of most of Melbourne's major attractions. Very attentive, polite, and helpful front desk staff make you feel at home instantly. The apartment itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You have the benefit of your own apartment plus the feeling of staying in a smart hotel. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for a mixture of business and pleasure. The location was fantastic - close to shops, trams, great food and my conference location. We stayed from a Saturday to a Saturday. We were woken several times on the first night with partygoers returning home in the early hours. We asked to be moved and were shifted to a higher floor. I wouldn't say that it is a particularly sound proof hotel. The rooms are clean and modern - think Ikea style furniture. The staff at reception were mainly very helpful. On arrival we were not given any additional information about hotel facilities but it WAS midnight. One downside of the bed in our room was that it was one of those velcro together 2 single beds to make a king....there was a rigid join down the centre...
I would stay again purely for the great location.

Nice enough place. Staff were pretty friendly. They were excellent at checkout. However at check in they told us they couldn't check us in as there computers had "just gone down". This was not true as they had been having that issue all day (our friends were there earlier). Guess they were just saving face.
Room was nice, hot showers etc
Lobby is pretty nice and quite comfortable.
Taxi's line up out front which is pretty handy. All in all I would stay there again. Really handy location right on Bourke Street.

We booked the citadines apartments because we were traveling with 2 teenage children. It had the 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms but it was extremely small. Also little things like 1 bedside table in each room, even the double, one draw per person, only instant coffee and $8.00 to do a load of washing! We have traveled a lot and thought for the price we did not get value for money. Also when I went to settle the bill with the last installment when checking out (once your bill for you room goes over $1500 you have to pay) they had already debited my account without asking.

I stayed here over three nights whilst participating in a half marathon, and found the room comfortable and great to prepare my own meals. For the price, it is a good apartment style hotel in a great location, close to Bourke Street Mall, Fed Square and Southbank.

A few criticisms though:
1) Wifi is pricey - $8 per hour, $14.95 per 24 hours or $80 a week. Seriously, free wifi should be a compulsory component of any hotel over four stars.
2) Parking - there is very limited parking underneath the hotel, that I couldnt access at all during the time I was there, so I had to park next door in public parking, which was $20 a day. You have to ask for a special parking ticket to make sure you get the $20 price, otherwise you will pay $88 a day!
3) The walls are SO thin! The first night I was there I actually had to complain about the people next door having their tv up so loud, I felt like such a fuddy duddy complaining but the walls were vibrating with the bass of whatever it was they were watching! The next night (a saturday night), I got woken up by lots of rowdy people going to their rooms at all hours of the night.
4) I spent about 10 minutes in an elevator with a bloke who just couldnt get the lift to stop at his floor, and as my floor was above his, I had to go along for the ride! After two extra visits to the ground floor, we jumped in another lift and had much more success.

I didn't hit the gym or pool or restaurant there so I can't comment on those, but if you are looking for a cheap place to stay in Melbourne that is central, clean and has the facilities you need to prepare your own meals, its a good deal. Just make sure you ask for a room that isn't opposite the lifts!
