We scored a great rate on the Hotel Club website for our stay. Check-in was quick and efficient. We were assigned a beautiful end room on the 8th floor. It didn't have the best view (of a carpark), but we liked having 2 walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, and the floor was very quiet. The rooms were large and well-fitted out with a very large king size bed, large flat screen TV, desk, chaise lounge and side tables. A great selection of magazines, toiletries, teas, iron/ironing board and fluffy bathrobes were provided.

We loved the infinity pool on Level 27. Great views! Plenty of loungers available. We also enjoyed the steam room and "vitality pool" (jacuzzi) in the change room.

The rest of the Crown complex is very easily accessed via a sky bridge on Level 1. We didn't eat at the hotel as there were many food options available within the Crown complex. Our favorite venue was Cafe Baci. Great food at reasonable prices with indoor and outdoor seating.

This is the third stay at this hotel, it is our favorite when in Melbourne. The rooms are still well maintained, the staff are good, housekeeping is very attentive and keeps a well cleaned room.
Our only gripe is the cost, it is a very expensive hotel for what you get- surely with a $350-$450 rate you can afford a complimentary bottle of water by the bed!!! Very little choice in the minibar either.Room service breakfast prices are still ridiculously expensive for what you get.
Whilst we do enjoy our stay at the hotel I do believe you need to re-evaluate what you provide as part of the whole experience, as this is what people remember .
Would we stay again, next visit to Melbourne we may try else where for a change so that we can refer back to this hotel as a comparison.
Overall well done, but as mentioned it is getting time for a refurb and to look at your over all experience offered( that is though if you want to only market towards the gambling guest only, if so then you have covered all bases).

Room Tip: Search online for the best rates, and book early online if you want a cheaper rate.

stayed at the metropol at crown a few times. clean spacious rooms. Loved the last room we stayed in which was a corner room lots of glass with remote control curtains. Beautiful views over city and bay. we were disappointed when we went to go to the sky bar on level 28 which we found out had a private function on but we were not informed even at check in. Mr. hives bar was available but very ordinary in comparison. the only negative with the rooms at Crown Metropol is that there is no bath which we find a very relaxing thing to have when you have a night away in city.

I love the Metropol, you know how most places you stay at, you love this, and you love that, however there was this one thing you didn't like? Well believe me you will love the Crown Metropol too. It is modern (which is not usually my favorite) however so beautifully and luxuriously done. We stayed in one of the loft rooms and it was gorgeous, two toilets, large lounge/dining room, massive bedroom, enormous bathtub and bathroom, so great. Plus of course all of Crown is immediately attached to the hotel, so there is everything you could want to do right at your fingertips, plus many fantastic restaurants, Village movies etc. The amenities are also very nice and those little extra things that are not usually included at other places, leaves Crown and Prominade for dead. Also it was spotlessly clean and the beds, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh best ever and same with the pillows, made for very sweet dreams. The rooms are so silent that you would not believe that anyone could possibly be staying next door. I promise you will love this place and we will definately be back.

This has got to be my favourite hotel in Melbourne.

The rooms are enormous, the facilities are great and there is plenty of choice for wining and dining at the Crown complex.

Metropol is the third and newest hotel within the Crown Casino complex and by far the most modern. Everything is rather fresh looking and pleasing to the eye, I feel like I always have an amazing night sleep whenever I stay at Metropol.

I also favour the location of the hotel because it is what I would say on the outskirts of the inner city of Melbourne; pretty much smack bang in the middle but located in South Melbourne so you're not too overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the busy city of Melbourne.

Located right near tram stops, you are also close to both Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations.

I am yet to try out the Spa treatments, but the indoor pool is certainly fantastic with great city views.

One of the biggest hotel rooms I've stayed in for a while. Plush furnishings, very clean and comfortable. Close to all the action at crown but nicely removed from the hustle and bustle. Close to the Convention Centre if there on business and an easy walk to the outlet stores at DFO. Warm welcome and lovely stay.

Stayed at the crown for 3 nights for a planned trip to see Black Caviar at Flemington. The motel is very easy to get to if you arrive at Melbourne Airport. The bus takes you to Southern Cross Station, one of the one stations in Melbourne and from there you can either walk about 8 minutes across the bridge to the Crown Complex or wait for the shuttle bus (also covered with sky bus purchase) to take you straight to the motel.

Checking into the motel was easy, and when arriving to our city view room (Wotif Special for $200 a night) everything inside was very luxurious and comfortable, is a self rated 5 star motel so what you would expect.

Modern type of bathroom with door that can be opened and in viewing of entire room. Only part that seemed a little old was actually inside the toilet and shower, the glass and tiles seemed not as classy as everything else. TV has all the pay channels, bed huge and comfortable, and great view with the floor to roof windows. Some of the 5 star accessories like robe and slippers and the bathroom accessories provided.

Only went to the motel's restaurant once for a light breakfast (The Hive Restaurant) but it seemed nice, but with so many options around the facility we ate elsewhere most of the trip. We also visited the top floor bar for a couple of drinks on one night.

The pool/spa area is awesome and we only went up on the last of 3 days we were there, so had wished we went up earlier. It is almost an infinity type pool that is on the 27th floor and has views of the city/southbank on 3 sides. Great place to have a swim, hot pool, or relax in the day beds.

Tram stop is right outside the motel so easy to get around if don't want to walk to city, also easy tram down to St Kilda beach area. To get anywhere further, you can tram or again talk the 8 minute walk to Southern Cross Station which takes you almost anywhere - also the spot to the races (Flemington) only 15 mins away.

As an extra part of this trip had organised to propose to long time girlfriend. The motel staff had a rose delivered their on Friday, and I had organised to have the rose sent up to the room on Saturday while we were at the races, so as we returned it would be waiting. They did a perfect job, didn't mentioned anything on checking in on the Friday, and when coming back on Saturday afternoon it was their waiting - they do take in the small details a guest is after if neccessary.

A bit on the crown complex as a whole that the Metropol is a part of - It is a relatively busy area with the Casino running in between the Metropol and Crown Towers and the many restaurants, cafes, bars and food court in the area. To get food is pretty expensive at the restaurants in the area but they are some of the best in Australia and run by some of the biggest names. There are cheaper options not far away, and there are many many options if you walk around, and not far.

Great place, staff are fantastic, very high quality and recommend looking out for deals particularly on wotif, where we got a room for $200 a night, as can be a lot more expensive than this.
