“Free WIFI and very pretty buildings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Nice old building, with warm in the winther, and good place to read a well written book.

A lot of student from the city read her every day. You could also just drop by and see the La Trobe reading room, as it is very pretty.

“Huge!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

The library is massive and the architecture within is stunning. I love how they have brought together modern day technology and data with traditional novels and texts.

“gorgeous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

The reading room - you think the public aren't allowed in these sorts of hallowed halls, but the state library is open access, nice gallery collection of old paintings of melbourne town too.

“Jewel of CBD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

A stately jewel graciously welcoming all. My favourite Melbourne landmark encapsulates everything that is great about Australia. Spend hours but preferably days.

“Well worth a visit”

Breathtaking amount of books - and the paintings on early Melbourne are worth seeing. Good location for access to main Melbourne shopping area.
