“New Hidden Gem near Outlet Shopping Haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Travelodge is a rather new lodge in the area but price is reasonable and staff helpful. Level one has common area with vending machine and washing machine.. we did not use it though.
In the room, everything is spacious, clean and comfortable for the price.
We stayed on the 12 storey and had the view of some office workers... but still nice to have a little space.
But the BEST part about this hotel is its proximity to the Shopping Strip of Factory Outlet SPENCER Street (most are in the process of moving to South Wharf - on the day we are there, witchery & a few has moved to the new complex at South Wharf) & DFO (direct Factory Outlets) in the shopping complex in the South Wharf.
As it is near the Southern Cross train station (including Airport Buses to the Tullamarine Airport, Avalon etc), a few cafe opens 24 hours! Very convinient for arriving & Departing Tourist as well.
Note that there is a connecting lift in the next building - ram-free that brings u to the 4th storey that links you to the southern cross station (very convinient - we only know on our 2nd day)

First time staying at this Travelodge. Hotel quite new and location great for games at the Docklands ( etihad ) stadium. Room comfortable and it was great to have a walk-in shower and not have to climb into the bath!
Bed comfotable and a good Philips TV.
Took advantage of the breakfast special , good value buffet for $13.00.

Myself and 2 other friends stayed here for a few days, checking in was easy, took all of 2 minutes. Our room was located in level 12, 3 single bed room. The room wasn't huge but good enough for the 3 of us who were out in the city for 80% of the time. It was very clean, only downside was all the hair stuck in the shower drain. The room also had a small bar fridge, microwave and kettle. Also had a decent size flat screen tv. Comes with some tea and coffee supplies, bowls, plates, cups, mugs & cutlery. Service was great, called for more towels and they came within minutes. The free breakfast buffet was great too, had sausages, scrambled eggs, hash brows, cerial, toast, juices etc from 630-930am. Only down side is you pretty much need a taxi to get anywhere because it's in the out skirts of the city. And with roadworks everywhere you don't get places all that quick so we spent a fair bit of money on taxis. Down the road from the hotel are a few resturaunts and a convince store and a subway being built so for a quick bite you don't have to go too far, all walking distance. If I had to go to Melbourne again & for the $160 per night for a 3 bed room, I would stay again!

Got two rooms here for a steal on WOTIF! The location is perfect with easy access to Southern Cross Station, Etihad Stadium, the CBD. Whatever you want. Check in and check out were a breeze. The staff are excellent. Really, if a clean room and a comfortable bed in the heart of the city is what you're after, you'd be hard pressed to find better value.

The only reason we stayed at this hotel was its location to Etihad Stadium, if your going to any games there then stay here. The parking isn't easy to access from hotel and visa versa. The rooms are small, so basic its almost a joke, pillows were so flat needed 3 to sleep. For what we paid it was acceptable, definately not worth any more than $179.00 a night-and that was room only. The breakfast cost of $13.00 for an adult was a good price and the quality of the breakfast was quite acceptable.
I would only stay here again if I was attending a game at Etihad Stadium, not for any other reason.

We stayed here for 1.5 nights prior to an international flight. We were able to check in early at 10:30am and we stayed until about 8:30pm the following night.

The hotel was quiet and spacious enough. The room was clean.

Location is great, just a walk up the stairs and you are at Spencer st station.
