We had heard so much about how amazing this restaurant was and we were very excited about going. Service is absolutley amazing but as far as saying that this is the best Chinese food around, we just couldn't see it. Entree was great but mains were boring. We both ordered a meat dish and that's exactly what we got. No veggies just meat. The rice we ordered with mains was dished out by the waiter so if you wanted more, you could not help yourself but had to wait for it to be brought around. Wine list pretty amazing. We didnt have to pay as our friends treated us, but quite frankly didnt think it was good value for money. No overwheming desire to make a return visit

“Fantastic Service and beautiful food..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

Lets be honest, Chineae restaurants have a bad reputation typically.. Do not judge this book by its cover.

Me Wah is a lovely restaurant serving beautiful contemporary Chinese food with out of this world service from every staff member.

The wine list is enormous and has a bottle for every budget ($49 - $33,000).

Would highly recommend a visit to Me Wah. Certainly one of, if not the best Chinese restaurant I have ever visited.

“A great restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We recently held a product launch at the Me Wah and it was a perfect location. The private dining area was a sound testing area of a music store prior to conversion to a restaurant, so the area was very quiet for the presentation.
The staff were awesome in their attentiveness and wanting the night to be a success. Every detail was planned and discussed.
The food was truly excellent and the wine list impressive.
I would say this is the best venue that we have used by far, it was perfect in every way.

“Memorable Dining Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

A party of us celebrating a birthday were treated to what I would rate as the best Asian meal that I have had in Australia. We chose the Peony Banquet which commenced with a trio of superb seafood dumplings, (crab/prawn/scallop) followed by pan tossed Moreton Bay bug with squid, stir fried breast of duck served in a beautifully presented lettuce leaf, roasted pork belly, braised Blue Eye Trevalla, seared tenderloin of lamb in Mongolian sauce, a magic fried rice with diced prawns and chicken finishing with a crème brûlée. Dishes were accompanied by the very freshest of vegetables and tastiest blends of sauces and spices and were enhanced by the attentive and informative staff who treated us royally. Truly a most significant birthday experience.

“Overall good. Food tasty and service attentive once we were seated.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Pre-booked here for a Saturday night in August and were advised that the earliest available booking would be 8-30pm. Arrived at the allotted time to find two couples ahead of us. Took over 10 minutes to seat us even though we could see upon our arrival that there were 5/6 tables that were free. Service, once we were seated, however was very friendly and attentive.

This is an upmarket Asian/Cantonese restaurant with a large al a carte menu and extensive wine list. We had Peking Duck, Hervey Bay scallops, Waygu beef cheeks, crackling skin pork belly and mixed vegetables (that actually contained about 5/6 different vegetables - very good). Our waiter advised us when he took our dinner requests as to the order in which the dishes would be brought to the table and this was what happened. There was also good spacing between the entrees and mains. Food overall was good quality, well presented (dishes served onto individual plates on a trolley and then placed on the table in front of you) and tasty.

One thing that was initially off-putting was the fact that there did not appear to be any small tables that just fitted a couple. We, and a number of other couples, were sat at large round tables that would have seated 6/8 people. Small point but not for those looking for a romantic dinner.

Would eat here again.
