“Amazing burger!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Great food from a hole in the wall style, American inspired burger place. Tried the beef and chicken and equally impressed with both. The chips and shakes are worth getting as well. It's not a sit down and relax experience and if it's cold out you will feel it, but it's all worth it for that sweet burger.

“Great alternative to the burger and chips you crave”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

Tucked down a lane off Liverpool st, Hobart The Standard is a great alternative to the fast food burger and chips your craving. There are no tables but a bench seat to wait for your order. Burgers were basic but delicious. Chips were small and crunchy with mustard and tomato sauce available as complimentary condiments. Great burgers with some hipster attitude!

“Really good burgers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

. It is an offshoot of the Coffee Restaurant called Pilgrim coffee Restaurant, around the back and you wouldn't know it was there unless someone told you about it.
It is very basic, go to the counter and put your order in from a black board menu, pay, then either sit on the long wooden benches or stand until they bring your order down from the restaurant kitchen which is up some stairs.
The hamburgers are really good and I enjoyed my ' standard ' with crispy hot chips as well although my husband said he had tasted better.
They also have chicken burgers and large ' standard ' and drinks etc and it is a good spot for grabbing a snack. Waiting time varies, sometimes quick sometimes slow
The Standard hamburger is $8 and with one serve of chips it came to $20 for 2 people, no drinks.

They also serve hot chips which a really crispy thin ones and a few variations on the burgers like crumbed chicken or extra large ' standard ' ones.
Drinks as well so you must give it a try and you don't have to wait too long before lunch comes!
