“This has history too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

It is a bridge... Built to allow ships to go under.
Don't us the centre lanes unless you are brave! In the left lane even the driver can sneak glances over the edges. Get the views from mt Wellington and look at the bridge from a little further away. Say from a ferry... To MONA...

“Great Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

It's important to acknowledge the tragic history of this bridge, but to also appreciate it's importance to the city.

There are great views from the top of the bridge (if you're game to look!)

The only negative aspect is that there are 5 lanes on the bridge and they are always changing, meaning that you need to be attentive and ensure that you are in the correct lane to avoid an accident. I'm sure that this isn't a regular occurance, but if you're not a local, it can be confusing.

“Great bridge - tragic history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

What a great site to come on to the bridge when travelling into Hobart from the airport, initial impression, wow, what a great bridge and a fantastic sight. Later to learn the history of the bridge, it's actual purpose and it's tragic history in 1975 it takes on a whole new dimension. This bridge is a fantastic landmark and I just loved to drive over it whenever the opportunity arose. Stunning views day and night.

“Interesting experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Read the review about the bridge. Come from the airport by taxi, just look like an ordinary bridge. But there is of course a story about the bridge ... The next day I drove from Richmond village and then return to the airport through the bridge. Like what it was told, the bridge has 5 lane, and I have to look at the opposite direction to make sure on the right lane. The scenery over the bridge is remarkable, before and on the bridge. A driving experience in a bridge with such history ... to be remembered.

“Find out a bit of history on it first”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Interesting to see a bridge that had a tragic history to it. It's certainly a little different to others, and certainly worth a quick moment to stop off and take a good view of the whole thing in.
Understanding its importance and the events that have transpired there make a difference to seeing this bridge.
