“Yummy food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

This long standing restaurant has been taken over by the crew who run Don Camillo in Sandy Bay. The food is really good and the waiting staff very friendly. Mains come with either vegs or chips - a bit of salad would have been nice as well. Wines are reasonably priced.

“Really Ordinary”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

When we arrived we were told that there would be a 10 minute wait. We said that's ok and we would wait outside. Shortly after us another group of four arrived, told the same thing and came out and stood beside us. When the 10 minutes were up, the waiter came out and took the second group in and seated them. 20 minutes later, we were seated.
The food was really ordinary. Two of us had what we thought was a McCains frozen Pizza. The other two had veal which was tough and drenched in a butter sauce that drowned the veal.
The service was ordinary however the waitstaff were very friendly. We could have done better elsewhere with a shorter wait time.

“Always a good feed with excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Have been here numerous (>10) times with the family (wife and three kids). We usually try and get there for about 6 o'clock and the service is fantastic. Have been there once a bit later closer to 7 and it was much busier and therefore service a little slower.

Food is always good and servings are good size.

Takeaways are prompt BUT don't get delivery - it's VERY slow.

“Birthday night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

We had 14 people so were given the private room and the kids could make as much noise as they liked! It is Italian food and the pizzas are reasonably priced. The waiter was wonderful and so was the food.

“Service a little lacking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

OK, we didn't book, but it wasn't busy and they fitted us in with not much of a smile. Food was inconsistent - bruschetta was lacking taste, garnishes were wilted, but the pasta mains were lovely. Waited a long time before being asked if we wanted dessert/coffee. Doubt we'll go back (not when there is so much competition.)
