“Saturday morning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Best market in Australia without a doubt.
I love it for the high quality art and craft stalls and particularly the antique and collectible stalls. Actually there is something for everyone. A pleasant walk, browse the second hand book stalls and then to my favourite coffee stop, Maldinis.

“ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

You hear so much about these markets but to be honest, we found them a lot like markets you see everywhere. Nothing really different and we don't really holiday for shopping so we were a tad disappointed. Atmosphere is good though - lots of people around.

“Go and immerse yourself for a few hours here-you will enjoy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

A very popular Saturday market for locals and tourists. A large variety of stalls here from fresh fruit and vegetables, crafts, wood work, art works you name it and you will find it. This is a great large market to explore, it gets very busy so an early start is a good idea especially in good weather. There are plenty of food stalls and coffee places to try as you meander through the market. Salamanca is a treat to the senses freshly made coffee to the beautiful German sausages cooking its hard to resit these taste sensations. As for live entertainment you will find musical entertainment and buskers which add to the atmosphere of the markets.

“Always something to do...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Great for people watching in any weather! Market on Saturday with local wares and fare. Outdoor cafe, fine dining and pub options. A Hobart institution! Perfect for Friday drinks - live band in the Peacock Theatre courtyard every Friday evening from 18:00. Come and rub shoulders with the locals and tourists. Also family friendly.

“A Saturday pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

When you live in the area there's not much to like about Salamanca. There are always plenty of new stalls, lots of old favorites and coffee to be had. It's the atmosphere. Lots of people wandering around at their leisure enjoying the banter from stall holders and purchasing little treasures. Weather can either add or detract from your experience however in in the worst weather you can grab hot food and drinks. There is a park nearby for children to have a run around.
