I have been staying in the Battery Point area for 2 days and have enjoyed walking along the jetties and docks looking at the variety of beautiful boats moored there. For a working harbour in the centre of a major city it is heartening to see how many recreational boats are still right there in the middle of it all.
As well as the boats, there are quaint bars, interesting shops and lots of things to see and do as you poke around the various galleries and shops. The area needs to decide if it wants to be a quaint area full of artisans or a souvenir trap, as after a while it all seemed to be the same pottery, jewellery, paintings and timber items, shop after shop. That was disappointing but overall, we had lots of fun. I especially recommend the Lark Distillery and Moo Brew.
