“Very pleasant village above the harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

A very pleasant stroll past heritage houses and local cafes, but start at the top - we approached it through St David's Park, a lovely shady walk) - otherwise the stroll becomes a hill climb! Nice descent to Salamanca with good views.

“we loved the bumble bees”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

Went for a stroll from the pier where we were staying and were admiring the gardens filled with lavender. The bumble bees were everywhere in the garden so we took a movie on my phone. We don't often see these creatures in Queensland and had great delight in sharing their beauty with our grandchildren when we arrived home.A truly pretty place

“A lovely area for a walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

Beautiful architecture, river views and quaint specialist shops are found walking through this area. Numerous cafes for breakfast and afternoon tea, this a great area to combine with a visit to the Saturday morning visit to the Salamanca markets. Do not miss the beautiful Princess Park and if you are energetic continue walking to Sandy Bay!

“Totally enjoyable way to spend a day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2012

Quaint cottages, historic homes & pretty gardens. What's not to like about Battery Point? Wandering the streets, lunch, a bit of photography, & later a beer to top off the day. Totally enjoyable way to spend a day. Don't miss eating at Jackman & McRoss Bakery. I dare you to resist their sweet treats.
