“Good location but hotel dated and no air conditioning”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Two superb old converted mansions in an excellent position on Battery Point...but the rooms are not air conditioned and the whole place is very dated and a wee bit "tired"....would recommend the Robert Jones Art Hotel instead,Massive incredibly comfortable super king sized beds though!

Room Tip: Big bed with water view high up-say 4th Floor-are best

My husband booked a suite here for an anniversary trip to Hobart. He saw the rooms on the website and the hotel looked fabulous. The suite we were allocated at a whopping $350 a night was unrenovated, with tired mismatched furniture and shabby soft furnishings. After approaching staff and discussing the difference between the pictures and the reality I was told that I should have been informed that the suites were still unrenovated. I was offered and shown a choice of two other rooms, a serviced apartment across the road and a garden view room in the hotel complex. We chose the garden view room and had a lovely stay. The renovated rooms are VERY nice, with lots of features that bring the hotel a bit above the usual chain style hotel. The staff handled the situation with understanding and professionalism. I would definately stay here again. We did not eat here, there are lots of restaurants and cafes close by on Salamanca Place. As for the complaints about no air conditioning - it is Hobart! For the odd days it gets warm it is not worth air conditioning here and we like being able to open the windows in a hotel for a change.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a renovated room.

The rooms are tired & a bit tatty, but the bathrooms are updated & clean. The lack of A/C was bizarre-- the portable fan didn't help much on a warm, Spring afternoon. The restaurant's dinner was excellent, but the breakfast was spartan and over-priced. The only reason I'd stay here again was the staff--exceptionally friendly & kind!

We stayed in a harbour view queen room, it was pretty much as the pictures indicated with good views over the harbour and a clean freshly made room every day. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the central location to some good restaraunts along Salamanca and it was a pleasant short stroll to the city and wharf. Beds and pillows were in good condition and firm, plenty in the bar fridge if you choose to indulge, plenty of parking behind secure access boom gates included no charge, overall I would rate it a 4.5 star hotel.

Room Tip: Any room facing the harbour should provide you a lovely outlook.

My family of 2 adults, 2 early-teens, have just come back from a three day visit to Hobart. We booked the Lenna online via a discount website. We got a two-bedroom suite - queen bed and a separate room with two singles. There was a couch and armchair, and a dining table and chairs. Comfortable beds with quality bedlinen. Lovely view over the river. The bathroom had recently been refurbished and was very nice, although it was a shame there was no bath. The Lenna has a lovely sandstone facade and sits on a hill. We arrived on a Saturday morning and it was literally 50 metres to the Salamanca market, and all the cafes, restaurants and galleries around Salamanca Place. Behind the hotel is a lovely little park, and the charming streets of Battery Point. Would definitely go back as the location is fantastic.

Well located amongst the Salamanca district, ease of walking to a variety of restaurants, bars and the city centre. Very spacious rooms, well equipped complete with plenty of car parking space and has the old feeling that makes you feel at home, this is where old meets modern, great value for money. The staff are helpful and friendly which always gives you a welcome feeling.

Room Tip: Any room as they all have views, the mountain view also looks over the harbour

Stayed here overnight while in Hobart for work. Was upgraded to a park view room.
Check-in service was good and room was very nicely appointed.
Room service options were good and varied and service prompt and friendly.
Breakfast - choice of al a carte or buffet ensured you had a great choice. The omlette and sides of bacon and chipoloatas was filling and very nice.
Overall a great stay and a hotel I'll use again on trips to Hobart.
