“Perfect stay for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

Booked a two bedroom apartment with our small baby - was the perfect choice. The two bedroom was based at the end of the hallway with the bedrooms facing onto the carpark which meant if bub cried during the night we had no issues with her waking anyone - and we had no issues with anyone coming in late next door and waking her. The room was spacious and very clean, all the amenities we needed, extra handy with the two toilets etc. Think they had new beds as they were really comfy.Perfect for crawling children as the TV is up off the ground and no nasty tv stands with sharp corners to worry about. The hotel is just close enough for a quick walk into the CBD or down to Salamanca. Excellent customer service from all staff, wish we had been staying longer. We will defintely make more regular trips now we have found somewhere suitable to stay - have recommended to all our friends!

Room Tip: Two bedroom is great for families

Got a great deal for 2 nights at half price and a buy-one-get-one-free breakfast... all thanks to the Hobart Tourist Information Centre!

Fantastic location, close to Sullivan's Cove and everything else! Spacious, clean and a home away from home complete with kitchenette and laundry facilities. On the 5th floor we had a small balcony overlooking Mt Wellington, the city and glimpses of the Derwent Bridge. It was clean, well serviced each morning and a delight to retire to each night. Plenty of tea/coffee supplies and bathroom toiletries replenished each day. Most staff are friendly and efficient. The rental car had a space but it rarely moved, such was the location of this hotel that we could walk everywhere pretty much. We didn't have dinner here (Hog's Breath is right across the street), but we did have the buffet breakfast one morning. Food was fine, but a little slow in being replenished and when it was it was by a rather grumpy female staff member (and yes ma'am, people do like 'crispy' bacon rather than dripping fat bacon) as was the other female staff member who seemed put out when I asked about how to use the coffee machine.

We loved our stay here and would definitely return and not hesitate to recommend it.

This property was very comfortable, clean, modern with a welcoming warm feel. I stayed for just the one nights in a studio apartment. My room was very large with all the items you would expect in a serviced apartment. The bed was super comfortable. I wished I could have. Stayed another night. It is a little walk away from the pier and city centre but it was not really an issue.

Room Tip: The studios are very sizeable.

Stayed recently on a trip to Hobart in a 2 bedroom room. Room was spacious and quite well layed out and everything was neat and tidy. Staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast had a good range of freshly prepared items. Location was great with only a short walk to some good restaurants and the waterfront. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights as we were attending a wedding in the area. The apartment we had was a good size and clean. The hotel is quite big so we had to walk for quite a while from reception to find our room, which was the only draw back.

Housekeeping did not come in the morning and we were back in the room in the afternoon so our room did not get cleaned. Not a massive problem as we were only there for two nights.

Reasonable location, short walk to the pier for restaurants, a bit further from Salamanca which is where all the nice restaurants and bars and shopping is. The shopping area near the hotel isn't great so worth the trip a bit further along the marina.

Friendly receptionist, stored our bags for us on our last day. I think probably overall it was a bit overpriced for what it is, considering we got a favourable rate because of the wedding I would have expected it to be slightly cheaper for what you get.

We stayed here at the beginning of March, just as it was getting a little cooler, we'd been in Alice Springs before this side trip and the change in temp. Culture and ambiance could hardly have been greater.
This hotel was a delight, easy to find, really welcoming and helpful.
When we decided we'd like to stay an extra night, they found us another, better room( the one we were in was excellent anyway).
The hotel is close enough to everything to be able to get out and about quite easily.
If you have dinner in the 'interesting' restaurant, be prepared to wait, 'cos although the food is super, it takes a while to arrive!

Had a great 3 night stay at The Old Woolstore. Check-in was quick and very friendly. The rooms are large and quiet, the beds are comfortable and the air-con worked well. It may not be the newest hotel but I was really impressed by the friendly staff and cleanliness of both public areas and guest rooms. The hotel is centrally located about a 5-10 minute walk to Salamanca place and market. It is also across the road from Gasworks where you can try some great Tassie wines. The bar in the hotel is friendly and fun, there is also complimentary parking which is a bonus.

Room Tip: If you have older travellers ask for a room closer to the lifts
