“Great location, warm & inviting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

We found the location perfect for walking to the wharf/shops and leaving our car in their carpark. The rooms are warm, spacious and inviting. Big King bed that is very comfortable. Had some traffic noise but didn't wake us and we live in the country! Nice buffet breakfast as well. Would recommend this hotel to families as very reasonable!

It's very near to Salamanca market and Sullivans Cove where both are within walking distance. Complimentary internet is certainly one of the plus point. Staff are very friendly and will definitely stay at the same place when we get back to Hobart again!

We recently stayed here for 2nights at the beginning of our holiday and 1 night at the end. We found the bed comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. The front desk were very helpful with advice and were very kind to let us leave our car parked there when we checked out as we were flying out 6 hours later. We stayed in a room overlooking the roundabout and didn't find the noise a problem (it stopped quite early) The location is great. Would stay again on our next trip to Hobart. Good Value

We spent 4 nights at Fountainside in May. It is very conveniently located with just a short 10-15 minute walk to the harbour and Salamanca areas. The room on the 6 floor was clean and comfortable. Mini bar prices are very cheap. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on food. Staff were pleasant and helpful, even recommending some great restaurants.

Room Tip: Choose a floor near top as traffic noise could be a problem on lower floors

I've stayed here twice and will be returning. The Fountainside doesn't look particularly inviting from the outside but from the minute guests step into the foyer they are greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who go above and beyond to ensure a high level of service. The rooms I've stayed in are modern and spacious, and the king size bed was one of the best I've slept in. The parking is free and easily accessible, and the location is great.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Fountainside in May. Room and bathroom were clean, good amenities and bed was comfortable. We requested the 6th floor as we are light sleepers. Large flat screen tv with foxtel was a plus. The mini bar can't be beat for prices. Location was great, walking distance to the waterfront, Mona ferry and other attractions. The breakfast was very good($11.80). After eating at a few restaurants on the waterfront we found the best dinning experience at the hotel. The salmon was excellent as was the porterhouse steak. Three course meal at $24.00! an extremely good value for good wholesome food. The staff were all very friendly, free wifi in room and use of computer by reception. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back to stay again. Well done to all the staff at the Fountainside, the best reasonably priced option with a great location in Hobart

Room Tip: A top floor if your a light sleeper

I stayed on floor 2 and 3. The hotel is right on a main roundabout. And I also had the fortune of having rooms right near the noisiest elevator in the world. Had to turn up the tv to drown out the traffic noise. But clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor
