“Nice food and coffee, menu misleading”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

We came here for coffee and cake, the cake selection is excellent and presented very well. Coffee was good, waitress was a bit disorganised (lack of training shows), half the table had their food but no cutlery. The menu is nice but misleading as all the fish dishes are marked as vegetarian which make me wonder if the gluten and dairy free options can also be trusted (bit of a worry when people in the food industry still think fish is a vegetable!) Overall though was very nice and would return.

“Best Bakery/Patisserie in Hobart”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

I have been to almost every bakery in Hobart. Jackman & McRoss, sweet envy, pane cucina, lipscome larder etc. This is by far the best. Walking in you are greeting with a huge glass cabinet of pastries -Sweet & Savoury. There are vast selection of sweet treats such as jams cookies and meringues spilling from the shelves. The bread is also great - especially the fruit rustic; loaded with apricots and dates. The real stars are the desserts and pastries. I have had the croissants (and the almond croissants), the lemon tart , white chocolate cheesecake, apple and blackberry strudel , pistachio & rose water meringue, apple galette, passionfruit meringue tart and the donuts. The almond croissants being the best and the cheesecake and strudel the worst. Still nice but not the best. (undercooked pastry and cheesecake not light enough and raspberry topping too tough and gelatinous). These are only minor negatives of an exceptional bakery. I will continue my quest to try every pastry the have in order to find the best. Highly recommended, (coffee takes ages though). Will return indefinitely.

“This rivals Jackman & McRoss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

We were so pleased we noticed this bakery - had a fantastic breakfast and went back to buy bread, pastries and biscuits to take home with us.

“Tasty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

Sweet or savory, you can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch. Plenty of vegetarian options too. This review had to be 100 characters, so I added some more.

“Wow. A little bit of Europe in Hobart .....at last.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012 via mobile

Wow. WOW! What a step up for Hobart and not before time. Great mix of atmosphere, service and beautifully presented and delicious food. The only comment my son had was that the tables could be a little bigger. My opinion is that it wouldn't matter as you'd only fill a bigger table with more food. GO THERE!!!
