“Very Enjoyable Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

We have had coffee here a number of times (we think one of the best in Hobart), and finally had a chance to stop for breakfast this morning.
We really liked how we could come in, sit down, order and get coffee all in about 10 min. No long Q's here!! The menu was standard (eggs/bacon/benny/french toast etc), but the food is not! We had the most beautiful breakfast. The eggs were actually individually poached (not microwaved like some other places - ewww!!) and deep orange in colour (free-range), the bacon is also free-range, and the baked beans my Dad had were home-made. Little touches like chives and some sauteed vegetables on the side gave it a 'we care' type of feel.
The atmosphere was good - probably not the best in Hobart, but relaxed and friendly. Three breakfasts and coffee (in mugs/soy) were less than $60, which I think is good value for free-range produce.
We will go here again, better than a lot of the more well-known places in Hobart.

“Lenah Valley Must Try”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Unpretentious, friendly coffee shop that turns into a restaurant on Thurs, Fri & Sat night. Small
but diverse menu. Food was beautifully cooked. The chicken breast was juicy and succulent, the Steak cooked to perfection.Entrees and Desserts were generous. Very tasty. Servings were not skimpy. Waitress was a gem as she managed it all on her own and was highly efficient. Small but good drink selection. Very reasonable prices.
Would highly recommend for a decent more home cooked style meal.

“Very pleasant place for a meal or snack”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Had lunch here today. Great experience. Relaxed on comfy couch until my friend arrived then up to the table that was prepared for us. I was glad we had booked as the place was patronized. Acoustics were pleasing and it wasn't.too loud despite it's popularity - in fact, not loud at all.
Menu had all day brunch and light lunch sections. I enjoyed my spiced sweet potato soup. Had to salt it, but that was easy. I really appreciated the fact that small serves could be ordered. Nachos, salsa, avocado mash, sour cream - all good. The slices and take-away wraps in fridge looked attractive. Will definite come back here. :)

“You must go to Augusto!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

This little local cafe provides a delicious dinner. The food is fresh and the produce prepared with skill. The menu is just the right size with great flavour combinations. The creme brûlée and chocolate fondant were standout deserts. This cafe isn't pretentious and staff are attentive and polite. I can't wait to go back and am thrilled to have such a quality cafe in the neighbourhood.

“THE best coffee in Hobart”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We've been here a couple of times for breakfast, excellent coffee and great food (fabbo Hollandaise sauce), the Augusto Big Breakfast is not for the faint hearted. Bookings are advised for dinner (not surprising), it's a small but lively cafe and is a great addition to the shopping strip in Lenah Valley where the bakery was the most exciting thing. If memory serves me correctly, it used to be an Indian restaurant some time ago. Anyhoo, I can recommend this place, great staff too and it has the very rare table service.
