From the moment I set foot in Paesano I liked the look of things, actually beforehand, when I was walking up the hill on Landsdowne Cres and could smell the aroma of delicious pizza wafting down the street. The contemporary decor is just right for the pitch of the restaurant, lime green downstairs and crimson up. I had the La Bomba, the hottest pizza on the menu as I am a bit of a hot food junkie and it put me through my paces, but the heat was calibrated just right, not too weak and unadventurous, and just at the edge where any hotter and it would've been painful. But the most important thing, the pizza was delicious, very fresh ingredients, it was a knockout. The American uncle and aunt presumably of their young local niece and nephew at the adjacent table raved about the pizza to the owner, the husband saying to him as we all left and on the street it'd restored his faith in pizza! And their capricciosa looked like heaven as I eyed it off from the side of my table. Service was impeccable, the two young waitresses upstairs who served me were very professional, I couldn't fault them, the owner was genuinely friendly and nice and even one of the pizza makers gave me a friendly goodnight! A highlight of my recent trip to Hobart.
