“A Remarkable Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

The 3-day tour of Kangaroo Island was one of the brightest highlights of my 3-week vacation in Australia. I can't imagine a better way to see the island than with Australian Wildlife Walkabouts.

Bill was our guide the first day and Fraser was our guide the next two days. They were both great! It was like traveling with very knowledgable friends who want to show you around the island that they live on. Fraser used to be the head of the K.I. park service and continues to be an environmentalist.

Over the three days on Kangaroo Island my family and I traveled the island with our guide seeing breathtaking beaches, remarkable formations, and wildlife. We saw kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidna, New Zealand fur seals, Australian sea lions, goanna, and various birds.

Remarkable Rock is not to be missed as it truly is a remarkable natural rock formation sculpted by the power of the sea.

As our guides learned more about our interests they suggested various stops that were a good fit for us, such as a local honey farm and an artists studio/gallery. We enjoyed delicious picnic lunches each day, home cooked and baked by Fraser's wife, Mia.

I'm so glad we opted for the 3-day tour. There is so much to see on Kangaroo Island and there's no better way to discover it all than with Australian Wildlife Walkabouts.

“Highly Recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

We spent 3 nights and 2 Days with Fraser and Bill and had a lovely time. They both have a wealth of knowledge about flora, fauna, natural history etc. “Fantastic”. Fraser was a little difficult to hear unless one was sitting next to him which was particularly a shame because he had so much interesting information to share. Perhaps a microphone and speaker system could solve this problem. They were extremely pleasant and easy going, while remaining very conscious of the critical timing. They were to adapt the program to accommodate our particular interests and pace. Our tour was fully catered and everything was delicious. A+. We couldn’t have asked for a better time and the price was very reasonable.

“Amazing one-day personal guided tour of KI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2011

With only one day to see KI, we specifically sought out a knowledgable, local guide to show us the highlights of KI. We found Australian Wildlife Walkabouts website on the internet and booked with them as they seemed to have a less commercial slant to their tours and are eco & environmentally sensitive. Fraser, the owner, picked all 3 of us up at 8am and tailored the day to meet our needs. We were all comfortable in the Land Rover Discovery. In the 10 hours that we spent with Fraser, we saw all of the major sights accompanied by his knowledgable commentary of the island habitat and the wildlife on the island. We saw osprey, kangaroo, wallabie, koala, goanna, echnida, fur seal and sea lions. The day including wonderful morning tea complete with tasty coffee, cakes and Anzac biscuits. Lunch was a fantastic meal of stuffed cold chicken, salad, rolls and completed with cold wine & beer.

We would highly recommend Australian Wildlife Walkabouts to anyone looking for a guided tour of KI. We truly enjoyed having Fraser as our guide for the day.
