Rustic charm to this distillery but friendly owners and dont mind showing off their wares. The limoncello is fantastic.

Thank-you for your review.
Our Limoncello is made with the zest of locally sourced lemons from around the island. Its intense lemon flavour is really refreshing and its lovely to hear that you enjoyed it.

See you next time!

“A Boutique Distillery in the Bush!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We were not quite sure what to expect, particularly given the cellar door was a rusty galvanised iron shack. (see my photo) Inside however it quickly became apparent that the proprietors really knew what they were doing when we sat down for a tasting. Fortunately we had a nondrinker with us so the driving was taken care of and I would advise others to nominate someone who is not partaking.

As a fan of gin and tonic I was very impressed with the gin and also the fact they provided Fever Tree tonic imported from Italy which is softer than usual and brings out the flavour of the gin. A bottle was far from cheap but it is a quality product and compares favourably with other top shelf gins. An oversized copper kettle behind the bar was the source of all the mystical brews with local botanical products in a basket inserted in the top of the still to infuse the aromatics. it was clearly a labour intensive process which in part explains the price added to the fact that the high alcohol content attracts higher excise.

Similarly the range of liqueurs was very interesting and we left with a number of bottles including the Zenzerino which we subsequently mixed with olive oil and used as addressing for salad. This was just sensational.

It is certainly worth a stop to try new taste sensations and get expert advice on the various ways they can be enjoyed – including drinking! Thanks for your helpful vote if you found this interesting.

Thank-you for your photo, review and recent visit to Kangaroo Island Spirits.

Lovely hearing that you enjoyed our Wild Gin and Fevertree tonic. We are just finishing off a new gin, O Gin, that will be in the cellar door for tasting and sales the next time you visit - we'd love your feedback. This gin is also made in our 80Lt Copper Pot Still and has native botanicals.

Your salad sounds divine, and we always have new liqueurs we're playing around with - we look forward to seeing you when your next on Kangaroo Island.

“A must visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

The owner/staff sure knew their stuff, they were very informative and helpful. The liqueurs are amazing, the lemonchello was divine with cranberry juice. Well worth a visit, even if it's just for an ice cream.

Thank-you for visiting Kangaroo Island Spirits and for your review.

Although the Limoncello with Cranberry Juice is not the traditional way of enjoying Limoncello, our local Foodland can attest to its popularity this summer when they continuously sold out of Cranberry Juice!

We look forward to seeing you again for an ice-cream!

“If you enjoy a nice cocktail this is a must do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

When I served my sister a Zenzerino & champagne cocktail her comment was 'I've never liked cocktails before, but this is so tasty!'

This is the perfect place to stop for an hour mid afternoon to taste a wonderful assortment of tasty liqueurs. I found the staff knowledgeable, and the gin and liqueurs fantastic. My only regret was that I didn't just bite the bullet, pay the duty, and bring home more!

We visited with two kids who don't drink, but the ice cream was sufficient distraction to give my husband and I time to taste the wonderful assortment of vodkas and liqueurs. You may not like everythin they make (everyone has different tastes), but I honestly think anyone who enjoys a nice glass of something at the end of the day, will find something here they appreciate.

Thank-you for your visit and review, and for converting your sister to cocktails!

We try hard to offer a selection wide enough to have something for everyone, and we are glad that you enjoyed our tastings. The ice-cream is made by a friend of ours and it is the best ice-cream ever - an easy enough distraction for anyone!

We trust you enjoyed the goods you got home, and we will let you know if we ever ship / stock internationally.

“Booze in the bush!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

What an unexpected and unique find. Great to find such enthusiastic producers of fine products. Love the honey and walnut liqueur and samphire vodka. The icecream and coffe make it great spot to visit for non drinkers and children as well.

We are really pleased you enjoyed your visit to Kangaroo Island Spirits and are happy to accommodate families, children and non-drinkers.

The Honey and Walnut liqueur is our most popular product and is made with the local Ligurian Honey (Cliffords Honey Farm), the only pure strain of Ligurian bee left in the world.
The Vodka Samphire is infused with the native succulent from the island and both products are great showcases of the array of produce available to visitors on Kangaroo Island.

We're glad you found something you liked, and thank-you for your review.
