“Hands on fun”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

We thought this attraction was interesting, but overpriced. However our 8 year old son loved it and was begging to go back. Good explanations of opal mining and some hands on activities.

“Great introduction to opal mining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

Visited mid June. We took our 2 kids (6 & 9) on a morn tour, our guide Virginia was outstanding. Def worth paying a bit more for the guided tour as we learnt loads about Coober Pedy and it's opal mining industry. Kids loved noodling for opals and would have stayed all day if we had let them.

“Toms Working Mine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

This was fantastic. We are a family of 4 and we all had a wonderful time at Tom's mine. It was very informative and quite interactive. The kids loved the ride in the bosun's chair (I did too) and enjoyed the noodling at the end. The tour talk by Jimmy was very informative and we would recommend it to anyone. The Mason's - Drouin

“More characters running this mine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

We did self tour and enjoyed wondering around with itinery. Loved the banter with Jimmy and Rosa at the desk, we enjoy meeting genuine people on all our trips and these are real opals [pearls?]
You can noodle here too. Have a look.

“Best fun you can have underground!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

We did the 10am tour with Jo in mid April 2012. While we didn't quite catch opal fever it was a lot of fun. Our son rode the bosuns chair, we were regaled with opal mining stories, the divining rods were amusing and really worked. Jo was a fantastic guide and her enthusiasm was catching!
