“Glad it's working”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We live right opposite this place and when it opened some years ago we doubted whether it would survive (too specialised?), but it has. It seems very popular with young Asian women - well off students? The chocolate items look tempting and are beautifully displayed. Drinks are quite expensive and the coffee is no better than nearby places, but it offers more comfort. I'm glad it's thriving.

“Heaven on a plate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

What is there not to like about a place that specialises in chocolate?? Well made, creative, tasty. Good ambience. Words are superfluous - better felt than telt! Highly recommend but be warned, eating is a waist hazard!

I absolutely love Cocolat! Best Chocolate Mousse I have ever had! My favorite place for dessert and a coffee after dining out in the city!

“Best in it's class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

If you're in Adelaide you can't leave without a visit to Cocolat. This is my absolute favourite haunt in the city. Coffee, cake, gelati, desserts, hot chocolate...... a sweet tooths paradise.

Cappuccino - perfectly proportioned, perfect temperature, good tight crema even with the skinny version
Chilli hot chocolate - a must try, hot in temperature (perfect on a cold winters day) and depending on how you like it hot on the taste buds too but always beautifully flavoured.
Gelati - well, arguably the best gelati in Adelaide... in fact their pistachio flavour won an award. But for me, you really must try the honey cinnamon, it's a must have whenever I go there. Good selection of flavours too so you wont be short on choice and good serving sizes especially for the price.
Cakes - some pretty special "single serve" cakes (sometimes best shared between 2 depending on your appetite). The Wild Thing is to die for. Presentation is particularly impressive - jump on their website and judge for yourself.
Chocolates - a little on the pricey side admittedly but as an occasional indulgence or a great gift among the best i've had.

They also have other dessert items there that I havent tried such as crepes and banana splits and all but you really must work your way through the gelati and the cakes.

Quite busy most evenings but you can usually get a seat. Nice enough ambience and good noise levels so you can still hear each other speak but dont have to worry about everyone else hearing your conversation. Again, don't look past this place if you're in Rundle Street.... even if you're not make a detour and try it out.
