“Not Impressed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

We ate at the Jasmin because it was across the street from the Crowne Plaza where we were staying. They have sidewalk seating which looked more pleasant than the basement where we were seated. I think you may have to reserve the outside seating in advance. They have a list of liquors with their wine menu but they don't make cocktails. We could only order a straight shot if we wanted to. The food was just average and I thought it was slightly over cooked. It just didn't seem like fresh quality.

“An old favourite thats stood the test of time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

I have been going to Jasmin for over 20 years and have never had a bad meal there.

From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a warm smile and friendly efficient service.

While the place is in a basement the decor is welcoming and the overall feeling generated is warm and even intimate.

There is a great variety of traditional Indian food on offer and if you have any special needs they are quickly catered for.

If you are going for the first time and a little unsure what to try the mixed entree platter is worth consideration as a starting point.

They have a very comprehensive wine list on offer including some very good vintages available by the glass if you dont want or need to buy a complete bottle -- they also have a selection of beers which include a good variety of imported brands.

Overall great value for money

“Best by far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014 via mobile

The jasmine restaurant has to be one of the best Indian restaurants anywhere.
The reception is with a smile and the service is excellent. The basement room I thought was going to be claustrophobic but it was very chic with superbe seating, lighting and art works.
The service was first rate. The food superb as was the wine we chose. If I had any criticism it is the portions, they are more than adequate.

“consistently fine Indian cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

Whenever we feel like excellent Indian cooking we head down to Hindmarsh square in the city to Jasmin. The basement restaurant is welcoming and the staff are efficient and friendly. But its the quality of the food that is the draw-card. Once a family-run restaurant, its fine traditions have been preserved by the owners who took over when its prize-winning cook retired. There has been no diminishment of standards and patrons continue to value this well-established dining establishment.
Its now a family favourite for our grown-up kids as well!
