The ambience is the main positive - cosy but elegant exposed brick, nice lighting and acoustics. The service is friendly and polite. There are nice additional touches such as palate cleansers and small appetiser in addition to food ordered, and this is one of the few places that does bother to clear the crumbs off the table between courses. The food is very good - the duck pasta and crab pasta are my favourites. The specials are usually more interesting than the usual menu - the steak was good - nothing wrong but nothing spectacular. Always reliable, you will rarely complain but also rarely think this was the best food ever.
