“A most enjoyable afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

We had a great afternoon combining learning to cook Thai food, tasting the food and some local wines that complemented it, and enjoying the company of 14 other like-minded guests.

“Learning and enjoyment at the same time..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

We know how to cook. Or we thought we did! We had never taken a cooking class before but the subject of this class, Asian Seafood BBQ was a chance to try something new under the tutelage of a chef. In this case Chef Kelly Lord.

The running of the class was done such that after an orientation you went into the kitchen where everyone had their own station with preparation utensils. While preparing the dishes the chef thoroughly explained why spices were used and even how to shop for them, demystifying a lot of things for us. You had the opportunity to try preparing all facets of the dishes; then once with tongs in your hand at the BBQ, the chef continued to offer cooking pointers. Interestingly, the food is prepared to allow "family style" eating of the finished dishes, a further way for the whole class to enjoy what we'd prepared together. The school even provides various libations to round off the meal.

In short, it was a great time! We came away with new techniques, experiences and confidence in the kitchen. I'm very glad we attended.
