“Exceeded my expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

I booked this hotel for 2 nights via the Wotif site under their mystery hotel offer. It was listed as a 4 stay and I paid $135 a night which was a steal. I wasn't sure what to expect seeing I got this at a discounted rate.

The hotel itself is located right downtown, close to Chinatown but in a small street which made it difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area. I was very impressed from the moment I stepped into the lobby to the minute I checked out.

The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Checking was easy, I got a room straight away without any problem even if I was there earlier than the normal check-in time.

I got a king room which wasn't the biggest room I've seen but it had a very nice luxurious feel. The king bed was very comfortable. I loved the bathroom and how it was set-up. It had a very large walk-in shower as well as a separate tub. The products provided (shower gel, shampoo, soap, moisturizing lotion) were from French Connection and smelled really nice.

I ordered room service breakfast on both mornings and it was average, nothing too fancy. I can't comment on their buffet breakfast nor their in-house restaurant.

Overall it was a nice stay and I would definitely stay there again. It was really good value for money and it is at a very convenient location.

Room Tip: Mystery booking through wotif.com well worth it!

We booked a 2 night special and had a great weekend away. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We had great views from the 16th floor (try to get a hgher level if you can). The bathroom was great - large with separate bath and shower. We ended up getting a surprisingly good meal just across the street at the Union Hotel, so didn't check out the restaraunt for dinner. There was a decent selection for the buffet breakfast (included in our package), The pool and gym were convenient with the pool being especially nice. As a fun little bit - check out the portholes in the bottom of the pool. They're glass and look down into the valet area where you can see people coming and going.

Room Tip: Try for the higher levels. The balcony rooms are great for a bit of fresh air.

Also had a mystery booking via Wotif, which was for one of the deluxe corner rooms. The quality was far above expectations for what we paid. The size of the bathroom alone was unbelievable. We weren't very impressed by the lobby bar, very artificial ambience, no tap beer and $8 for a bottle, But there is a pub just across the street with much better deals. But the room is what is most important and we felt great the whole time we were in it , so it gets a 5 from me.

Mystery booking through wotif.com for a work visit. Most impressed with the size of the rooms. The service from the bar staff was warm and genuine. Although I didn't use the pool and gym facilities, they looked top notch. Definitely one of the better establishments in Adelaide. Will stay again next time I visit. Couldn't fault it, although some more international news channels such as BBC World on the TV's would have been great!

I stay here every time I come to Adelaide for work. It is a central location, opposite some fine eating / drinking establishments and has decent in-house meals as well.
Service is impeccible. Apples in the foyer for a morning munch. The rooms are spacious and have terrific views. Beds very comfortable and bathrooms a luxurious size. I'd recommend this hotel to any type of traveller. Exceptionally good value and quality.

The hotel is located in the heart of the ADL CBD and close to everything. Their superior room is very spacious comparing to other major city hotels. Bed is comfortable. Service is great. 3 hours free wifi.

Room Tip: Higher levels may have better views as lower levels are surrounded by car park buildings etc

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

Stayed on a Saturday night on our way back to Sydney.

The hotel is in a great location, minutes walk to the markets, Rundle Mall and Victoria Square. The lobby décor is inoffensive, notwithstanding that someone would label elevators as kitschy. The portico is quite small and is only good for a drop-off / set down; check out first, then get your transport. One inconsiderate guest caused quite a chaos on Sunday morning during a check-out peak.

We booked a Superior King Room and got a 12th floor beauty. The room was spacious, quite contemporary, clean and sunny. The bathroom was big, with a separate shower. There was even a (quite small) balcony, which is great if you are a smoker who does not suffer from vertigo. As we don’t qualify on either ground, we could only enjoyed benefits of fresh air. And we did need fresh air, because we just couldn’t figure out how to set the aircon to “cooling – 22 deg” from “heating – 29 deg”. In the end, we turned it off and left the balcony door open. Loved to hear chiming of the GPO clocktower!

We were too tired to go out for dinner and decided to order in. Having acess to à la carte from the hotel restaurant is a nice touch. The food was OK, if a bit expensive for what it was, but convenience has its price. Had we had the same meal in the hotel restaurant, we would have been disappointed.

If you are staying overnight, park a car yourself and save up to $23; valet staff will tell you this too.

Overall, a very pleasant place.
