A great hotel with great breakfasts. The best bircher ever and a great selection of hot food. Rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Ask for a room well away from the cleaning staff storage room which can be noisy at all hours. Pool is excellent. Didn't use the gym but it looked well appointed. And then there's Marco, the best reception man in the business - friendly and extremely helpful. Near to the gallery, botanic gardens, casino opposite and the Mall. Parking opposite in the public car park. Hotel can be hard to find on the first visit. Room service dinner was yum. I'd stay here again in a flash.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the Festival Theatre, Adelaide Casino and Rundle Mall (shopping). There are numerous restaurants and fast-food restaurants nearby. The rooms are large and contain every imaginable item required for an overnight stay. Beds are comfortable and pillows soft. The bar is delightful, plenty of seating, loads of atmosphere including a live band. The breakfast is just fantastic, healthy food items are plentiful and staff provide fast and efficient service. This is our second stay and on both occasions we have received an up-grade.

We had a great stay..

Arriving early 9.00am, expecting to just check in and leave our bags until official check in at 2pm, we were advised our room would be ready in 10 minutes, so we could wait and then go to our room.

Whilst waiting for the room we were offered a complimentary coffee at the cafe.

The room was clean, king size bed, good shower.

Concierge was very helpful at advising a Awsome steak restaurant, and managed to get us booked in, on a Saturday night.

All in all a brilliant stay..

This hotel was booked for a two night stay on our package by APT. They must have known that this was the best hotel in Adelaide. Room fabulous, only problem they did not have a room safe. We were at the side of the hotel and have marked the hotel down for sleep quality as during the night the lane outside was very noisy with late night/early morning revellers. (Hotel would be unable to do anything). Food was fabulous, we had our dinner (prebooked by APT) here on the first night. Nothing was too much trouble and my steak was cooked to perfection. No complaints. The food was so good that we decided to have our second night dinner there. Thought I would have the steak again but then salmon was on the menu (very varied menu) and ended up with ' trio of sweets' for sweet course. Lovely. Breakast was also amazing. Could not believe the choice, cooked to perfection, and any variation imaginable. Chef take a bow for great effort. Unable to make breakfast the next morning as we left too early. The hotel produced breakfast boxes for us to take to the airport (at 5.a.m.) juice, water, rolls fruit etc - nice. Yes the hotel food is pricey, yes there are cheaper and quite good outside but at the end of the day it will be a while, before I might be back. Found the staff on recepiton very helpful with maps, and things to do. Other staff equally helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Would love to come back the this hotel. The location is fantastic, handy for the trams, the river , in fact everything.

The Sebel Playford is a luxury boutique style hotel. From the moment we arrived I knew my weeks of research had paid off. The hotel is centrally located, offers valet parking or has secure overnight self parking $15 per day in the carpark opposite hotel (1 min walk). The rooms are lovely, luxurious bedlinen, plush soft furnishings and spa quality soap/skin products.
The hotel has a heated pool, spa and sauna in the basement which is open 24/7. The Sebel has a lounge bar and restaurant.
The buffet breakfast is of a very high quality. The continental component was extensive, the hot buffet is self serve with eggs ect being made to order.
Location is excellent, a couple of minutes walk to the casino, shops & restaurants.
A lovely hotel, which is well priced offering excellent service.

Great central location, a few blocks from the Rundle Mall. The free inner city tram is a block away from the hotel.
The rooms are fairly normal but they give us a room with a king bed initially when we requested a room with two doubles. Based on previous reviews, I think this may happen occasionally. In the end they graciously gave us the room we requested.
The hotel is very nice with some impressive decor, if only a bit pricey. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel opting for nearby cafes that sold breakfast at a fraction of the price but probably nowhere as good as the Sebel buffet.
The service overall at the hotel was impeccable with Christophe, the local concierge, giving us some great advice on restaurants and things to see.
The gym was quite well equipped and a small lap pool is there as wellas a sauna and spa. The spa wasn't working the weekend we were there.
