“Exquisite place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

My partner and I had an overnight stay here to just have a break. It was lovely the view gorgeous the restaurant served an excellent dinner and the bar whilst pricey made some great tasting cocktails. It was not the cheapest place to stay but the room justified the cost as it was clean and comfy.

I stayed 3 nights at this beautiful hotel where I found a great hospitality from the staff. The facilities are located close to good restaurants and shopping stores just 5 minutes away. Beside the hotel you can have a nice walk in a beautiful river and just behind you can have some adventure in a great Casino. You will enjoy the hotel, try it!

Overall - average. Rooms were quiet, a nice location, but dated, carpets were dirty -revolting -and the room overall was in desperate need of an upgrade.
Staff were great.
Breakfast - for the price of $35 a head - average. Eggs were soggy and warm as were the meats, sausages etc. There was no cooking of eggs etc as is the norm with other Intercontinental's to order. We arrived 45 minutes before the end of the service and they had stopped replenishing the food. As such, the cheeses, yogurts were almost depleted. Juices, coffee, muesli's were plentiful. Pastries were dry and stale.
I wouldn't return here. I would find somewhere else in the Adelaide CBD.

We had a very brief one night stay here prior to an early flight.
We used the valet parking and explained we would need the car at 5am, so they left it in front of the hotel - very helpful.
We were given an early room and an upgrade as a platinum priority member using points - this isn't the case at all hotels, thank you!
Room was very nice with a lovely bathroom .
Location is perfect, we walked everywhere from the hotel - into the centre talkes a few minutes and the river is just behind the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past when it was a Hyatt and unfortunately the decor has not been updated, it is very dated when compared with hotels on a global level.

It is not good value for money. The room service menu was very overpriced, with a hamburger, drink and small dessert costing $50+

The room does not include any extras with valet parking costing $40 per day and breakfast (which was quite average) more than $25 per person.

Internet was slow and cost around $30 a day, where as most other counties I stay in stop charging for internet years ago.

Staff at this hotel were not as service oriented as one would expect for the hotels reputation.

I just stayed at this property for 4 nights over the Easter long weekend. I have stayed here many times in the past when it was a Hyatt and this was my first stay with it being an Intercontinental Hotel.
I had a great stay as usual and didn't notice many differences with the hotel brand changing, but I thought the customer service was much better and the staff were friendlier and more attentive.
The rooms are still comfortable, classy and very clean, the lobby is still stunning, but the hallways are dated and are showing big signs of wear and tear and could do with a refurbish. The sound proofing is great in this hotel and I didn't hear a thing from adjoining rooms or at night and slept great.
The hotel is in the best location if you are visiting Adelaide, very central to everything and I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Stayed here for 1 night in a Superior Twin Room. All staff we encountered were very friendly. The room was a nice size and the bathroom was amazing and very clean. Had a great view from the 16th floor. Internet and parking is very expensive but we didn't use either.

Room Tip: high floor for a good view
