“Quiet and central”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Stayed 2 nights on business. The room on the second floor was spacious but no view of anything. The room was quiet, bed comfy. However, the air con does blow directly onto the bed and that will annoy people. Also, what is with the BIG BRIGHT alarm clock? I had to turn it face down because it lit up the room. Plenty of cupboard space and a recliner. Bathroom has shower only but hot water was not really hot - I don't mean scalding, just really hot. Perhaps the setting is designed as a safety feature. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but the location is a little out of the way for eateries. There was a communal kitchen on 2nd floor so you could eat in etc.

The place was clean, quiet and central. I'd say value for money. Overall it felt a bit like an upmarket backpackers which isn't necessarily a criticism. Probably wouldn't stay here again given location and other choices in Adelaide.

Comfortable rooms Spacious. Breakfast should be continental as in pancakes, pastries fresh fruit, cream{cream} Coffee machine. Will have many returning guests if these little changes were made. Also 11 pm checkout would be more convenient for a lot of people. A nice motel overall.

Room Tip: Didn't know it had a swimming pool or restaurant. Always check that you ask for a room with a en...

I have had the pleasure of using this Adelaide hotel for a number of months now, purely for business stays, usually for one or two nights. I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed with the quality of accommodation or service during this time ( approximately 18 months) .

It is worthy of 3.5 to 4 stars, based on the spacious rooms, quality of cleanliness, ample complimentary continental style breakfast on site and the friendliness of the staff. This hotel is located a few blocks from the main CBD area, an easy 10 minutes walk to Rundle St Mall restaurants and shops. If walking that far isn't your thing, then there are many other eating options within a 5 minute walk of the hotel, ranging from Thai, Italian and pub based food and drinks.

In terms of value, I have always stayed during the week for business trips and expect to pay in the range of $110 - $130 depending on the season.

No gym, no pool, no restaurant on site, so you need to be aware of those issues, but the price range is not catering for those facilities anyway.

Parking can be an issue at times, as metered parking is up until 6pm, then free for overnight street parking until 8am. There is no hotel parking available.

That said, I will happily recommend and return to the Adabco Boutique Hotel in the future .

Room Tip: Rooms with one large queen sized bed provide an even more spacious room if required.

This lovely old hotel is centrally located in Adelaide. We had the two bedroom family suite. Rooms spacious and clean. However we had to share one small and inadequate bathroom which was disappointing. The bathroom needs to be updated.
Staff great and friendly. Breakfast included but wouldn't bother.

Was really impressed with this hotel. Good location, lovely rooms and great 'added extra' amenities like the laundry room and kitchen at such a reasonable price. I didn't try the breakfast but made lots of use of the free wifi which was unlimited and reliable. Beautiful old building too.

Stayed one night for hospital visiting a family member. Location to the Wakefield hospital is just across the road with many good quality eating establishments close by. My room was large with comfortable bed and tv chair. The room and bathroom were spotless with quality toiletries. Only disappointment were the towels whilst clean were not soft and fluffy which I expected for 4*.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Continental breakfast was basic, would like to have seen gluten free options other than tin fruit. Some cheese, cold meat & pastries as is served in other 4* hotels, would have rounded it out better.
Though I didn't use them there are well equipped kitchens and laundry facilities on each floor.
Good location to walk to Rundle Mall or pick up the tram to Glenelg.

My husband and I had one night here on our way to the centre. We had been sorry we had only stayed one night. For a family or any one staying longer they had well equipped spotless kitchen to do your own cooking. A continental breakfast was provided and there was a lovely lounge casual area where you could watch TV or just relax. The room was a good size with en suite and comfortable beds. Wonderful for a family or people who didn't want the expense of eating out all the time. Would certainly like to stay there again.
