“Great Boutique hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Beautiful small boutique hotel.
Getting from the airport is about 25$ by taxi, I don’t think there is public transportation.
The receptionist was very nice and engaging to help.
The location was good for me as well, walking distance everywhere (10-20 minutes).
Room was big and had lots of style. Free internet!
Breakfast was very disappointing so don’t expect a rich buffet, because it’s not,

If I ever get back to Adelaide, I will definitely stay again in Adabco.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very happy. Staff were friendly and helpful and there's plenty of tourist info at reception. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the road and apartments next door but it didn't keep us awake. The included continental breakfast is basic but very edible and handy if you're away for a while like us and just need something to get you started. The free wifi, computer for guest use and coin laundry were all very useful. Very conveniently located on Wakefield St and just a short walk from the main city attractions. There is only 1-2 hour parking out the front but we left our car in the 24 hour multistorey just down the street.

Very handily placed in Wakefield Street, easy walking to most of central Adelaide - this good, as parking is at a premium in the city. Very nice spacious room, lovely bathroom. Large kitchen on each floor, so you can prepare your own food if you wish. Free breakfast downstairs - quite reasonable, but get there early or late, as tables get filled up quickly. Free access to computers in lounge, wi-fi in rooms. Very pleasant helpful staff. Excellent place at reasonable rates.

This is not fancy, but it was a great place to stay and I thought it was a great value. My room was quite large with a refrigerator and built in shelves and a desk against the window. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom a decent size and the location was good, not as central as some others, but only about a ten minute walk to rundle street, etc. The staff was awesome, Julie was so friendly and helpful with restaurant advice, etc and Dave was super nice too. They have free breakfast (pretty basic) and a kitchen that you can use if you would rather cook yourself. Would highly recommend for a nice budget type accommodation...

I'm a bit perplexed by all the positive reviews for this property, which to me seemed to be suffering from a serious identity crisis. The outside is beautiful, but the inside..wow. Very modern wallpaper and dark-wood IKEA-esque furnishings are marred by some truly awful faux European oil paintings in gaudy gold frames that are hung absolutely everywhere. Add to this mix a few antique pieces in the common areas and some random Asian statues/pots that are scattered about. The bedroom was exceptionally poorly laid out (with the door opening onto a gigantic wardrobe that was way too large for the space and the bed crammed into a corner under the heating unit instead of having been placed in the middle of the room.) The bathroom, with its gold glittery sink, also lacked storage space. Breakfast was just ok.

The Adabco has a good mix of all the things that add up to a good choice of accommodation - the rooms are comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful, the price is good value for what you're getting, and the location is convenient for getting around the city.

When we checked in to our room, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of it - it was very spacious for two people, and we didn't need to worry at all about having to squeeze past each other.

From the hotel, it was a leisurely 15-minute walk or so to the heart of the action, Rundle Street Mall, or about the same amount of time to get to Central Market. It was about a 10-minute walk to the nearest tram stop, at Victoria Square, where you can hop on a tram to Glenelg.

No matter which member of staff we encountered during our 2-night stay, they were all consistently friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

I thought the rate was good value considering the comfortable room and the location of the hotel - plus the rate included breakfast (even if it was very basic - toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juices).

The hotel is housed in a charming old heritage building to boot, so it's a pretty sight from the outside, too.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Adelaide and will stay here on any future visits.

This hotel is good value for the price. I have stayed here twice on both business and for personal reasons. The price includes a basic breakfast of toast, cereals, coffee, tea and juice. No fringe benefits. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant or room service but at $119 per night that's not my main concern. The rooms I have stayed in have been, clean, comfortable and reasonably large. The windows don't open :(. It is a quiet hotel as it's away from the busy areas of the city, but is still a comfortable 10 minute walk to the Central Market, and 15 minutes to Rundle Mall. It is very close to the Hutt St precinct which has a number of restaurants, ATMs, and also a small supermarket. Each level of the hotel has a shared kitchen area which I found to be clean and easily accessible during both of my stays. Parking can be a problem as the hotel has no undercover parking and the on-street parking is limited to one hour (free in Frome St) or two-hour (ticketed) parking. The closest parking station is about 5 minutes walk across from the Fire Station. Overall it's nothing fancy but I still like it.
