Located in a quiet area, no more than 15-20 minutes easy stroll away from the CBD. It is easy to find and there is plenty of on street parking although you will have to pay between 8am-6pm weekdays. There is a lounge downstairs, 2 computers for guest use (including a printer) and a dining area where breakfast is served. All receptionists I encountered during my stay were courteous and helpful.
The room was a decent size and good value for money. The bed may have been a squeeze for a couple, however. Room was clean and toiletries (soap, shampoo, body wash) were replenished during my 4 night stay. There is minimal natural light and the shutters to my room could not be opened but there were plenty of artificial light sources to make up for this.
Breakfast was included however I did not sample it during my stay as I am no fan of hotel breakfasts in general! Guest kitchens and laundry are provided which is useful for families and those staying long term. Hutt street around the corner has a grocery store and plenty of eating options.
There is an empty fridge in the room and vending machines on the ground floor for snacks and drinks. In my opinion this is far more preferable to having a mini bar where they charge outrageous prices! Internet in the rooms has to be paid for. This was a slight disappointment for me as from their website, it is not clear that internet is only free on the hotel computers.
I have stayed in 'boutique' hotels before and I can understand why some people would be disappointed with the Adabco. What people should remember is that many boutique hotels charge 5 star rates and the prices at the Adabco are very reasonable for what you get.
