“A Secluded Treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We recently visited this venue which is secluded in the leafy suburb of Parkside, just south of the Adelaide CBD.

It is a beautifully maintained old character hotel.

What is surprising is that it offers a range of dining experiences from counter meals in the traditional main bar, to a la carte dining in the quaint restaurant or bistro dining in the separate bistro area.

The food is tasty, the portions generous and the menu is quite extensive. Service is prompt, informed and friendly.

An added bonus is the wide range of boutique draught and bottled beers served in the main bar area. I strongly suggest a taxi because you'll want to try more than a few!

Well worth the search to find this charming local venue.

“Casual Pub and Bistro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Good casual pub tucked away in the back streets of Parkside. Prices are average for an Adelaide pub. Salad bar is included with all main meals. Staff are friendly and kitchen is open til 9pm! The Earl of Leicester is known for their big schnitzels but if you order a salad off the menu they are also a decent size! If you are looking for a casual bistro with good food, then give The Earl of Leicester a go!

“pub food, popular with the hockey club, book pls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Snitzels hang off the plate - even the small ones, so you need to be hungry to order these. I get the salt and pepper squid if I'm late cos it's quick. I like the curries cos they come from Rahj on Tahj - they're spicy full of flavour but not usually burning hot. Steak is ok. Salad is good when you're hungry. Plenty of food at a value price.

“Good value pub meals- try the large schnitzel for AUD 19.50!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

The Earl of Leicester is a near city pub which offers a friendly and cheerful pub ambience.

The are two main dining areas: the Bistro and Liars Restaurant.

Also, they have an outdoor dining area.

The Bistro offers good quality traditional Aussie pub fare, at very reasonable prices. If you're hungry, the AUD 19.50 beef or chicken schnitzel offers exceptional value, as well as a challenge to eat it all!,

By the way, they have cold beer on tap, and a reasonably priced selection of wines.

Well worth a visit!
