“Excellent Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We stayed here for five days. The apartment was a good size (though the kitchen seemed a bit cosy when organising breakfast) and there was plenty of space at the table for us to all eat together. There's a second sink in the bedroom which was useful.
We were able to get a beach/pool towel from reception - the reception staff (especially Thomas) were friendly and helpful.
No buggy, but we didn't feel the need for one - there's a free shuttle bus to the marina on the other side of the island, it runs every seven minutes.
The kitchen was clean and well equipped (brand new oven). Great views of the water, we were on the 6th floor. The beds seemed a little larger than standard singles, and the mattresses were very comfortable. Only a slight problem, but if you wish to sleep in, we found that once the sun comes up, a fair bit of light peeks around the edges of the curtain.

After many years of dreaming of a visit to the Whitsunday Islands we booked a long weekend at Hamilton Island in June. The cost of the airfare and three nights accommodation at the Whitsunday Apartments via Virgin holidays was very reasonable. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the accommodation. The 1 bedroom apartment smelled damp and the décor was so dated. In fact, it was like taking a time warp back to 1973 as it doesn't look like they have been touched since then! The service was up and down and it was extremely expensive to eat, drink and do activities. I don't know how parents afford to take their families there on holiday!
The saving grace was the view from our balcony, and our trip out to Dent Island to the Golf Club. That was a great afternoon and highly recommended.
In the end we agreed it was not likely that we would return to Hamilton Island and prefer Moreton Island (Tangalooma).

Room Tip: If you do stay here make sure you get an ocean view.

Its hard to fault this place.... and I'm pretty particular. Everything others have said is true, great views, easy access (and distance) to beach, great provisions, shuttle bus at the door, helpful staff, clean, quiet. I found the checkout process very accommodating, we were able to leave our bags there for a few more hours (we even went out for a walk while the bags remained behind), hang out in their guest lounge (with internet access, although there was one morning I couldn't get internet access which was frustrating) and have us leave for the airport at the right time. The items supplied in the apartment were also helpful and relevant. I would suggest to staff that an oven tray rather than a baking tray would be safer (I found holding a hot baking tray dangerous) or better still, an oven glove. Actually the only complaint (which wasn't part of our stay) was that I twice asked in emails about fitness equipment at the apartment or nearby and although other questions were answered this was not. For those interested there is a sports club a few minutes walk away that is $16 a visit or $12 if you're staying 5 days or more. A few minutes walk down the beach is also water activity equipment (like snorkelling). The Coles online was a great suggestion via their website, I've never used Coles online before and although I wasn't that impressed with the service (overcharging and charging for items that didn't arrive so definitely check the receipt) it is ultimately worth it as the local (and only) grocery store is expensive. I was able to save money booking through the Entertainment Book so was very happy with the price. We did hire a golf buggy, not the whole time and more as a novelty as you got to explore other areas of the island that the shuttle bus didn't travel to and go to lookouts at night. Ultimately if you have a hard time relaxing but need a break this is the island to come to and this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Get the ocean view, the extra cost is worth it.

We arrived on a staurday and it was pouring cats and dogs all day.Until the next day when it cleared up to no clouds and perfect weather.
I had baught my 2 Friends with me for a girls weekend away and it turned out to be amazing.
The hotel was clean,Tidy and the views AMAZING,like no other on hamilton island. We stayed in the on top floor.Perfect room not a thing wrong with it.Except you should think about having the king bed split into king singles.(We all wanted the king Bed).
The gardens here were amazing so green and non used.Suggest putting a barbecue down there on the grass it is wasted if you cant appreciate it.
The service was timeless.THOMAS from reception he was sweet.Caring And always helped us single ladies everyway he could,Always Smiling and making us laugh everyday of our stay.Including our last day he drove us to one tree hill and took photos for us and the chapel.Made dinner reservations,Never let him go he makes the hotel what it is warm and friendly first and last.
We will be back again thomas so we will see you then.Might have to bring the kids MAYBE next time.
10/10 FOR THE HOTEL
.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view

The apartments are right on Catseye Beach great spot. The place is very convenient. Four pools to choose from and a spa. Apartment is quite large, ( can sleep 5 ) separate bedroom, large fully functional kitchen, full size fridge. Large Balcony is great especially with the views you have from there. Television in lounge and bedroom both with Foxtel, you can also plug in a hard drive or games console. . Housekeeping come to collect rubbish every day and will make your bed if required. Don't waste your money on hiring the golf buggies ( $90 for 24hr ) as the free shuttles take you everywhere that you can go on the Island. They come every 10 to 15 minutes you just jump on and off where you want. The free shuttle bus comes right to the foyer entrance so convenient. The apartments aren't cheap compared to other destinations but for Hamilton Island they are good value.

Room Tip: Stay on level 10 or higher. views are great. We had room 1003 and it was great. If staying for 3 n...

Stayed here with some friends for a few days, and it was awesome. The room is spacious and ours came with a small kitchen so we could cook (should we chose to). The best part of the room are the large sliding doors which open wide to let the breeze in. Of course the views were really nice as well. Only a short trek to the marina, and if you don't want to walk you can always catch the shuttle, or rent a golf cart to get around the island. Clean room, friendly staff, overall great stay.
