“I love Hamilton island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2009

This was my 3rd trip to Hamilton Island and my 2nd time staying at the Reef View. The rooms have been renovated since my last stay and look fantastic. Our 3rd floor room was huge and had a fabulous view of Cats Eye Bay. Service was impeccable... nothing was too much trouble and staff were polite and friendly .The hotel has its own fabulous pool but is well located to be able to walk to the Main Pool which has a swin-up bar. Reef view is also a 10 minute walk from the Marina precint, where all the shops & restaurants are. If you are of average fitness you really don't need ot hire a buggy on Hamilton Island. It's fun to get one for a day so you can explore the whole Island but at $80 a day it can be quite pricey. Only negs for this room are no cd/dvd player, but considering everything else I would highly recommend it! If oyu visit Hamilton Island you MUST go to Reefworld & Whitehaven beach - fantastic!!

To celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary Jase and I took a trip to Hamilton Island. Last time we were here we stayed in a Palm Bungalow so thought we'd upgrade to the Reef View Hotel this time. Well we are so glad we did! The entire establishment is beautiful, filled with friendly staff and had us oohing and ahhing from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. We stayed on the 11th floor and had unobstructed views of the ocean and resort below. Our room was spacious with 2 queen size beds, a large balcony, flat screen TV with Foxtel and in-house new release movies, a large marble bathroom with huge tub separate toilet and a shower big enough for the two of us! The room rate included a full buffet breakfast each and we couldn't believe what was on offer when we arrived at the restaurant each morning. Bacon, eggs (cooked to your liking), sausages, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, spaghetti, baked beans, toast, pancakes, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, the list goes on! The hotel pool was olympic size and one of many pools on the island that we enjoyed taking a refreshing dip in. The main resort pool is enormous and has an island bar that serves delicious cocktails during happy hour each day. We hired a buggy during our stay and had fun cruising around taking in the sights, snapping photos and stopping to admire the amazing views. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from including one on the ground floor of the Reef View Hotel but The Steakhouse and Italian Restaurant on the Marina get a big thumbs up from us. Both served delicious food that left us wanting more and tasted as good as the water views surrounding them! We ordered room service from the Reef View Hotel late one evening (around 11pm) and our order was delivered within 10 minutes and tasted great. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made check-in/check-out quick and easy. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Reef View Hotel at Hamilton Island to anyone looking to take a relaxing (and romantic) break. We've already made plans to return again later this year only next time we'll be staying a lot longer!

After our terrible experience at Brampton Island we were very anxious as to what we would find at Hamilton Island and it exceeded our expectations. The Hotel was fantastic, nice big rooms, clean, great views over the reef, friendly staff and the buffet breakfast was incredible. We really enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to recommend it. The little village with its many restaurants makes for great variety and choice of meals. The bush walks are nice, although they do need some maintenance after the wet season.

Stayed at the Reef View Hotel as part of a group. The hotel was awesome! Big rooms with lovely views of the ocean and the surrounding areas. The staff were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay trouble free. Got to the hotel identified our luggage, and when we arrived in our room, our luggage was there. The swimming pool was big, and it was a nice place to relax and take in the atmosphere. Having the bar and the restaurant located on site, and right next to the pool area, made our short stay enjoyable, meaning that everything you needed was right there.

The free shuttle arrives at the front door to take you to various places on the island, and comes at regular times. Wait times are not that long. The island itself is small, making everything within walking distance, however you are able to hire golf cares to transport you around. Right next door there is a sports centre which has a gym in it, and the services there are complimentary to the guests staying at the Reef View Hotel. It is equipped with modern equipment, and although it does not have air conditioning, who really cares when you get to use the gym for nothing.

My partner and I totally enjoyed our stay a the reef view hotel. Staff were friendly and poliet. Rooms were very large and spotlessly clean. Our room also had a great view over the swimming pool out to the ocean. Breakfast which was included in the package deal included all you would expect from a full buffet and was very tasty. We would stay again for sure!

We stayed here over the Valentines weekend and I loved every minute of it! The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were huge with wonderful views of the ocean and surrounding resorts. Hamilton Island was lush and tropical and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being there. We had breakfast included and it was so convenient just to wander down when you felt like it and have breakfast ready. It is a pricey hotel but everything on Hamilton Island is quite expensive. My favourite thing to do was hire a buggy and scoot around the island. We hired one for 24 hours and it was $85-. It's so easy just to jump in and go over to the marina or just explore around the island. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

I found this hotel overrated and boring. The room are average and has no charm. The bathrooms are old looking and where not very clean. The worst was the food...the same buffet EVERY night. If you wanted to eat something else you had to leave the hotel and go to the harbor and it was located far from the hotel you had to to rent a golf cart or walk (big hills and not fun with kids) or you could wait for a minibus, but it was always full or took forever to come. Before you get here you think you can snorkel and swim in the ocean but when you get in to the hotel room you get a paper saying that there are stingers and that they recommend you to swim in the pool all the time! It was just a let down. The only nice thing is the glassed in elevator which gives you a nice view every ride but you have to wait...a long time for them to come.
The internet did not work for 4 days and the gym has no air-condition just fans=very hot. We are traveling around the world for 1 year so I have stayed at a lot of places and this one was a let down.
