Owner description: Fraser Island's iconic Cool Dingo off-roading, guided tour takes the hard work out of managing tides, traffic and navigation on the world's largest sand island, and puts the fun back in to adventure touring. World Heritage-listed Fraser Island is well known for beautiful, fresh-water lakes, untouched sand dunes, ancient rainforests and the spectacular 75-mile ocean beach, which comes complete with a shipwreck - all of which are discovered, along with local legends, interp and insider knowledge on a Cool Dingo tour. Cool Dingo two and three-day tours are fully guided and all-inclusive and promise a good night's rest on Fraser Island, with comfy lodge accommodation, hearty buffet meals, air-conditioned 4WD tours and return catamaran transfers - as well as some amazing scenery. You can also forget fidgety nights in tents and worrying about how to get from one spot to another... There's plenty of 4WD action, great value and fun to boot - and best of all no tents, no sleeping bags, no cooking, no driving and no worries. Tours depart from Fraser Island, Hervey Bay, Rainbow Beach and the Gold Coast (selected dates).

“More than we expected! Fantastic Guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

We have just finished our Australian East Coast Tour and in our mind Fraser Island with Cool Dingo Tours was by far the most memorable and well organised trip. The comradary across this beautiful place was just perfect as our guide could communicate in several languages and his knowledge and passion for the job made us all feel happily intrigued. We didn't realize how much history there is and the ongoing formation of this beautiful sand island. We saw sharks, dolphins, manta-rays, turtles, little pity we just missed the whale season.
The only problem we had was with the room keys not being ready and incorrect room but our guide sorted that out for us! Thanks for a wonderful trip Martin.

“Great tour guides and activities though accomodation basic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Cool Dingo organised our transfers from Brisbane and everything ran smoothly. We had a great time and met some fun new friends :) our tour guide Cameron was fun and knowledgeable, a great tour overall.
The accomodation was basic, comparable with cheap backpacker lodge accomodation. The bathrooms were pretty filthy to be honest, and the rooms were disorganised with people being booked into rooms that were already taken by other guests...

Dear chrisby80
Thanks for your feedback re your recent tour and please accept my apologies for the mix up with your room keys on your arrival. I am disappointed with your feedback regarding the cleanliness of your lodge, which was not up to our usual standards and for this I also apologise.

I have followed up with our Executive Housekeeper, who tells me a brand new team was in charge of the lodge that day and the bathrooms were an unfortunate oversight that was not picked up by their immediate supervisor. We are always happy to rectify problems like that when you are on site and I encourage all guests to report any issues to their Ranger Guide.

I am glad we were able to redeem ourselves with the overall quality of the tour, your transfers ex Brisbane and the overall four-star rating.

“best part of the holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We pre booked the 2 day, one night trip. Reasonably prices considering it included transport, accomodation, tour guide and food for the 2 days.
had an early pick up from the hotel, didnt know what to expect. A real mixture of ages and backgrounds. We had around 34 people on our bus, which was a good size.
A real fun packed 2 days, saw lots of the island- swimming in lakes and creeks, walks, saw dingos and other wildlife. Had the opportunity to go over the island in a 7 seater plane for $75 dollars, this was well worth the money. we expected to pay more!
Ranger Les was fantastic, he really made our trip. we are still talking about him and his stories now. he clearly had such a love and passion for Fraser Island. What a great guy, would go back just to go on his tour again!
We paid a little extra to stay in a room for 2 of us in a shared cabin. The cabin and facilities were basic and comfortable which were fine as we didnt spend much time there.
Food was fine too. The cookies were the best! Lunch was good. A buffet with salads, meat, cheese, bread etc on day one. Tea was a mixture of foods. day 2 we all had pack ups containing food to make wraps which was lovely and tea before we left the island was italian themed, again all good. water was provided throughout and a coffee/ tea stop in the morning and afternoon.
The dingo bar was pretty good, had a dj and games such as twister. A pool table outside the dingo bar. Happy hour where jugs of beer are $12 although the pump wouldnt work so had to pay more.
Do take insect repellant as we were attacked throughout the trip, especially by horse flies!!!
Lots of high factor suncream too!
Met some great people :) definatley the highlight of out trip.

“Brilliant trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

I had the best time in Fraser Island with Cool Dingo tours. We saw all the amazing sights of Fraser Island, and although it rained most of the time, we still had so much fun - swimming in the creeks and lakes, seeing dingoes etc! The lodges we stayed in were really comfortable and the Dingo Bar was a lot of fun too! All round great trip.

“Fantastic tour and the best tour guide ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

I booked the two night, three day Fraser Island tour as part of a Greyhound package and was not disappointed. It was a great balance of fun, walking, swimming, sightseeing and a lot of laughter. The tour guide Les became the hero of everyone on the tour, so funny, a really nice guy and hugely enthusiastic with a lot of knowledge about the island. Can't recommend it highly enough. The marketing makes it look a bit tacky but it isn't at all. Great food too, the accommodation is basic but fine and there is a bar over the road.
